If it happened now - the hounders and forkers simply would not believe that the children had been abducted and murdered, Lily.

Even after the trial, there would have been endless threads about masons and cover-ups, dissection by 'body language experts', accusations of photoshopping, and all the rest of it.

They really should go and take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror.

Completely true. Hardly a backkground there they'd approve of, poverty, child left to his own devices. Taken and killed by a pair of monsters. His poor mother tormented with it to her last breath.

What on earth makes that putrid bunch of brain challenged perverts think that Winnie Johnson would want their condolences? They would have torn her to shreds long before Brady and Hindley had been caught, and then they would have made excuses for the real perpetrators. Not to forget that some of them have found Mira Hindley more acceptable than Kate McCann.
I can't even say Rest in Peace, because I don't think that it is relevant. She died not knowing where her son was buried. And personally, I doubt that Ian Brady even remembers.
But the child could have been buried in worse places. Saddleworth Moor is a beautiful place. And if you actually believe in a Life Hereafter, then she is with him now. That is all that really matters.

But it isn't going to happen, Bonny. Brady is never going to tell. Possibly because he and Hindly did something really awful to that child, that I would prefer not to contemplate, and Brady doesn't want anyone to know.
There is a conscience in there somewhere. Believe me, I know. There are some things that even perpetrators don't want to think about.

Oh, I think Brady is, Sabot, he's right up there with the very worst of the serial killers. He still has the power to torment the families of his victims, and that is exactly what has happened this week.

Thankfully, Mrs Johnston was too ill to be told about this supposed 'letter', but her family now have to deal with it, at the very moment of their mother's death.

Serial killers on Death Row do this, too - pretend they are going to tell the families of their victims where their remains are.

They rarely do, it's just a game to them.

Yer, well, perhaps I am a bit stupid, but I believe that even the worst of them have a conscience. And this is why he wants to die. He simply cannot deal with what he has done, and would prefer to be dead. And then he won't have to think about it anymore.

I think the forkers will be a little disappointed anyway, Alan Bennett has every sympathy for the Mccanns. He's even said so recently.

I don't know, Bonny because I don't understand them at all. I don't understand the complete lack of empathy and compassion. I don't understand the screech they go off on the minute they hear of a child left alone for some reason, no matter how short the time.
I don't believe that they are all perfect parents because there is no such thing. Everyone makes mistakes of some kind or another, but the one thing that worries me about them is that they don't think they do. They think that everything they do is perfect. This is dangerous because they never make allowances for unforeseen circumstances, and they never teach their children to protect themselves.

Yes, I think we had all guessed she hated the McCanns. She would have done well not to portray herself as the injured innocent in this matter; a lot of people hadn't seen her vile posts until she drew attention to them.

I don't think that is any excuse, Bonny. Her REALITY is Hate, Spite and Rubbish, and I think she was born like that. And I don't believe that abused children necessarily turn into abusers. They have a genetic preclusion for this sort of carry on which doesn't only happen on Sink Estates.
Fortunately all children have two parents so there's a good chance that some of them won't inherit the gene.
