Instead of writing in MIssing People´s facebook page, despicable, not appreciated comments, do something positive, something good to help those in need: help find all missing children, people, because that is what truly matters here. Also know this: the work being done through Missing People organization, with the help of Mrs. McCann is also a positive thing, value to all the children born or unborn. Keep these thoughts in your minds, because this is what really matters here, which is above everything else.

Paul Castello Sarah, you are right this "sorry string of comments" is precisely what it is. Less than 80 people have posted here criticising the charity for their action in appointing Kate McCann as Ambassador for the Missing Person charity. Yes there have been hundreds of comments but some people have posted more than twenty times.

It is the same old rag bag of assorted nasties from other McCann facebook pages and twitter who have spent the last five years living in a fantasy land where they think the McCanns are the worst criminals in history. They need to hate and have formed a little clique of lynch mobbers who huddle together and pretend they know better than the authorities.

Today has shown them at their worst. Filthy abuse poured out like venom and why? Because a charity that does good work has chosen as an Ambassador someone who has suffered the loss of a child. Because this charity which is desperately working to find missing children has someone as Ambassador who can bring much-needed experience of the devastation that is caused when a child goes missing and can use that in the media to benefit others.

These disgusting trolls who are trying to overwhelm the charity's twitter and FB accounts with their desperate hate do not care at all that their actions are damaging the launch of this worthwhile campaign. They have no interest in missing children. They just want to show their hate for the McCanns.

That says it better than I could.

They are the scum of the earth, deliberately trolling a charity for missing people like this.

One good thing - even more people can see what pondlife they are.

Paul Castello This has been quite a spectacular demonstration of the little clique of long term trolls operating. They have deliberately decided to attempt to sabotage one of the most important campaigns ever in the cause of missing people just because they cannot stand to see their hate figure doing such a good job in promoting such a worthwhile cause.

They have attempted to crowd out this page and the @missingpeople twitter feed with their regurgitated hatred and lies. They have been rabble rousing all day on forums to get people to post here and on twitter and to email everyone from the Prime Minister to Rupert Murdoch, the charity directors and every media person they could think of.

Now we have a murderer (John Hirst) who leads his own prisoners campaign posting out and out libel and claiming he can be a campaigner but Kate McCann who the Portuguese Authorities found no evidence of neglect, or anything else against cannot. That is about as low as these people can go really. But no doubt the other people who are here only to post their hate about Kate and would never even bother to read a missing child poster, let alone this page will pat him on the back for his defamation and hypocrisy.

I encourage those who support the families and those hurting at the loss of a loved one to support this campaign launched this morning by Kate and to do whatever they can to support all those seeking to restore missing children and adults to their homes.

And finally a reminder of a few words of wisdom which apply whether you are a Christian or not. "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

Ignore the vicious and sick attempts to derail the campaign. Look at those billboards and if you can help in any way please do so.
