LONDON (Reuters) - One of Britain's infamous Moors Murderers, Ian Brady, has revealed information about where one of his young victims is buried, British media reported on Friday.
Brady disclosed the whereabouts of 12-year-old Keith Bennett, the only body never found, to a long-term visitor to the psychiatric hospital where he is serving his life sentence, reports said.
A 49-year-old woman had been arrested in South Wales on suspicion of preventing the burial of a body without lawful exercise, according to reports, citing police. The reports did not specify whether the woman and the visitor at the hospital were the same person.
Brady and his accomplice Myra Hindley are known as the Moors Murderers for murdering five children between 1963 and 1965.
They kidnapped, sexually tortured and murdered the children, whose bodies were buried on Saddleworth Moor near Manchester, England.
Winnie Johnson, 78, the mother of the young victim kidnapped and killed by Brady and Hindley in 1964, has battled for 47 years to lay her son to rest.
In July, she pleaded with Brady to tell her where her son was buried as she fears she may soon die from cancer.
Brady, 74, was jailed for life in 1966 for the murders of three children. Hindley, who died in prison in November 2002, aged 60, was given a life sentence for the murders of two children.
In 1987, the pair admitted killing Keith Bennett and another 16-year-old girl.

Police are investigating whether Moors Murderer Ian Brady has written a letter to be opened on his death revealing the location of Keith Bennett's body.
But Martin Bottomley, head of investigative review of Greater Manchester Police's major and cold case crime unit, said: "We do not know if this is true or simply a ruse."
Police launched their investigation after Brady's mental health advocate told a Channel 4 documentary that he gave her a sealed envelope to pass to Winnie Johnson, the mother of his 12-year-old victim Keith Bennett, in the event of his death.
Jackie Powell, 49, who was appointed Brady's mental health advocate in 1999, was detained in south Wales on suspicion of preventing the burial of a body without lawful exercise. But detectives examining documents seized from Ms Powell's home have so far found no evidence to suggest Brady disclosed the location of Keith's body. And Ms Powell has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Mr Bottomley said in a statement: "We have been, and always will be, open to pursuing any new lines of inquiry that arise from significant scientific advances or credible and actionable information. I want to be explicitly clear about this: Ian Brady has not revealed to police the location of Keith's body.
"What we are looking at is the possibility, and at this stage it is only a possibility, that he has written a letter to Keith's mum Winnie Johnson which was not to be opened until after his death. We do not know if this is true or simply a ruse but we clearly have a duty to investigate such information on behalf of Keith's family."
Brady has always refused to disclose the location of Keith's body. His refusal has caused constant heartache for Keith's mother, who has cancer and recently appealed to him to break his silence before she died.

The family of the mother of Moors Murders victim Keith Bennett has vowed to continue the fight to find his body and give her son a Christian burial.
Winnie Johnson, 78, died in the early hours of Saturday at a hospice following a battle against cancer for a number of years.
Ian Brady, the killer of her 12-year-old son, has always refused to say where he buried him on Saddleworth Moor above Manchester despite decades of pleading from his victim's grieving mother.
She also passed away not knowing about reports on Friday that Brady may have detailed the location of the body in a supposed letter addressed to her to be opened on his death.
Brady, 74, and his partner, Myra Hindley, who died in jail in 2002 aged 60, were responsible for the murders of five youngsters in the 1960s. Most of their victims were sexually tortured before being buried on Saddleworth Moor, with Keith's body the only one yet to be found.
In a statement, Winnie's family said: "She was a much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and is survived by one younger brother.
"Winnie fought tirelessly for decades to find Keith and give him a Christian burial. Although this was not possible during her lifetime, we, her family, intend to continue this fight now for her and for Keith. We hope that the authorities and the public will support us in this."
Her lawyer John Ainley said Brady still held the key to finding the burial spot. He said: "She has died without knowing Keith's whereabouts and without the opportunity to finally put him at rest in a decent grave. It is a truly heartbreaking situation that this opportunity has now been irrevocably lost."
Martin Bottomley, head of investigative review of Greater Manchester Police's major and cold case crime unit, paid tribute to Winnie for spending the majority of her life "courageously fighting to get justice for Keith".
Her death comes amid a police investigation into whether a letter exists in which Brady apparently discloses the location of Keith's body.
