It is stated in a Croyden Newspaper that Tia didn't have a bedroom at her Mother's flat, and that she slept on the settee. This could explain why she spent weekends at her grandmothers house, and probably school holidays as well.
Not that I think this reflects on her death, or suggests any neglect.

According to the papers, Tia didn't have a bedroom at her mother's house.

She did have a bedroom at her grandmother's house, where her body was found.

This is according to the papers, though, and they aren't always correct.

I don't think we are going to hear anything reliable until the actual trial, which I think is scheduled for January?
