So much for the wonderwoofs. I think I can happily live my days out without hearing another word about dogs with supposedly super-canine, or superhuman, capabilities.

Well, for certain sure he killed her, albeit possibly in a panic. But he still killed her.
Could that be Manslaughter, do you think?
Just asking.
And oh my, aren't the dogs ever taking a bashing. Some man in Ohio could have been executed on Dog's Evidence.

I've noticed that those who are most in awe of the supposed wonderwoofs are those who don't actually have dogs, Sabot.

They wouldn't put up with the mess and the bother, Bonny. And they certainly would not have given house room to Eddie or Keela.
And I find it quite fascinating that humans found that poor child's body because it was stinking, despite two visits with Cadaver Dogs who detected nothing.
I hope they don't bring that up in Court. But they won't, will they.

Ms Bicknell said she noticed a smell in the house that night but thought it was because one of the cats had gone to the toilet somewhere.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
I honestly don't want to diss The Dogs. I am sure that they can be useful in some circumstances.
But this is getting ridiculous. Proclaiming them as some sort of super sleuths and using them in Court is just not on because it colours the judgement of certain types of people.
How many times in the last six years have they been proven to be downright unreliable? Not to mention the number of times when they have found nothing at all to record.
Okay, there was blood found in The McCanns appartment, but it wasn't Madeleines, so what bloody use was that?
The truth is that Martin Grime jumped on a bandwagon with a dog who was not purely trained for Cadaver scent. And with what I now know, I very much doubt that this is possible as there are too many variables with decomposing body fluids.
Grime then used the publicity of The McCann Case to make a lot of money.
In short, in the absence of an actual cadaver they aren't all that much use.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
And in poor Tia's case, there WAS a cadaver, and they still weren't much use. If the smell is so bad the humans can smell it, then what's the point of a dog with a fancy title?

Police had searched the loft twice on 4 and 5 August before they found Tia on 10 August after a detective noticed a smell of decomposition in the upstairs of the house and a dog indicated that it could be coming from the attic.
Best give it extra Bonios
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be critical of working dogs, but if anything illustrates that they do NOT have mystical, super-canine powers, this does.
There aren't terribly many places a decaying body could be, upstairs in a tiny council house, EXCEPT the attic.

Tia's grandmother noticed smell in house
The week after Tia disappeared, her grandmother Christine Bicknell described a "smell" coming from somewhere in the house.
"On the Thursday night I noticed a smell in our house. It seemed to be coming from the small bedroom," she said in a statement.
"I had a quick check around and I couldn't find anything. I had that smell before in my house and it was cat's mess.
"The following morning I could smell it a bit worse than before."
She said she had apologised to the police for the odour.
Tia's body was found eight days after she disappeared in a bag in the loft of her grandmother's home.

He's changed his plea to guilty:

Tia Sharp Murder: Stuart Hazell Pleads Guilty
There are gasps from the courtroom as the man accused of killing the 12-year-old schoolgirl changes his plea and admits murder.
The man accused of killing 12-year-old Tia Sharp has dramatically changed his plea and admitted murdering her.
Stuart Hazell, 37, had originally denied killing the schoolgirl and hiding her body in the loft of the home he shared with her grandmother in New Addington, south London.
There were gasps from the public gallery and Tia's father broke down in tears as Hazell changed his plea to guilty.
Lord Carlile, representing Hazell, said his client wanted to make it known that "Tia's family have suffered enough and he did not want to put them through any further stages of this trial or this process".
Judge Mr Justice Nicol is expected to sentence Hazell later today.
The trial at the Old Bailey, which was entering its fifth day, had been expected to last two weeks.
Tia's body, which the prosecution said was "carefully wrapped" in a sheet and bin bags, was found a week after she went missing in August last year.
Her disappearance sparked searches by police and members of the public but her body was missed during initial searches of the loft.
The change of plea comes after four days of graphic evidence during which Tia's mother, Natalie Sharp, frequently had to leave the courtroom, visibly distressed.
More follows...
---------
Thank Heavens it will spare her family having to listen to any more sickening details.
Oh, and for anyone unsure about UK law - it is now acceptable to call him a child-killing scumbag pervert.

Maybe, Sabot, though I can't see him getting anything less than life. And I personally hope he gets whole-life, for the depravity of the murder and for literally sticking the poor child's body in the attic to rot.
I really don't want to think about it, it makes me both angry and ill.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
Well they obviously wouldn't let him plead guilty to Manslaughter, otherwise he would have done. Although I do think that this is a possibility, academically.
But sexually messing with a young girl of her age is depraved, and seriously asking for trouble.
Who knows what goes through their heads when they are likely to be exposed.

if you can stomach reading it. Personally, Hazell ticks all the boxes for being put down with less concern than a rabid dog, but that's just me.

Incidentally, I don't want to hear another word about wonderwoofs after this.
If the smell of decomposition is so bad the humans are aware of it, then any old household pet could do the job.
