Madeleine McCann Case - postponed the hearing on 13 and 14 September
It has requested the postponement of the first session of the trial on the complaint filed by the McCanns against former PJ inspector Gonçalo Amaral.

It has been Requested the adjournment of the first session of the trial on the lawsuit filed by the McCanns against former PJ inspector Gonçalo Amaral.

This request is made on medical grounds the legal representative of Gonçalo Amaral, Dr. Santos de Oliveira. Thus, the trial will begin the next 20 to 21 September.

But is going to be miraculously better by the 20th?

You're too late, dear, it's off again. Which comes as no surprise to some of us, as we heard rumours a week ago.

Even Gonc's fan club don't sound too convinced by this tale of woe. They really should think about something.

If there was no court listing for the hearing;

Then it never was going to happen, was it? Wonder what stunt Gonc will pull to get out of the next hearing?

He's now used 'illness' twice', and 'too far for my lawyer to travel' once.

You really would think it would be dawning on his fans by now that a courtroom is the LAST place Gonc wants to be, and that there never was an 'Ace'.

Or - maybe the publishers have, which is the real reason it has been cut to two days? I have no idea, Lily, you know what it's like trying to get anything resembling the truth from Gonc and co.

I am trying to remember his excuses for delaying the Faro trial...didn't he claim to be living in a police station? And when he was expected to give evidence by video from said police station, it turned out they knew nothing about it?

And the judge was none too impressed?

There have been so many Gonc court cases, delays and jiggery-pokery, I tend to get them muddled up.

I think it's reasonable to imagine that the publishers did settle some time ago, Bonny.

I understand that the Mayan curse is the excuse they are holding in abeyance in case Gonc manages to get the case postponed until around December 21st.

As regards smiffy, all he wants is to be able to write a best selling book.

Maybe the world famous profiler could write something with him?

I pray that Gonçalo Amaral will win his case and that Tony Bennett will also win his day in court. I will meanwhile hope to finally get the time to update my Profile of the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann and I hope I can get a new book published by a major publisher (one with some balls) that will illuminate this case to a larger audience. I will continue to watch closely all the other people, the many wonderful people online (too many to mention but I must at least thank Joana, Morais, John Blacksmith, and Hidedo for their nonstop efforts in the case) with great websites, insights, and information who refuse to let the case of Madeleine McCann fall into obscurity or fantasy.

I wish I could have recorded that morning on Fox TV when the doctor gave his view of her after she had spoken her usual pile of ignorant carp. To discover a little later that she had been replaced.
