Libel trial delayed till January

So much would have stayed as no one's business but their own if it hadn't been for Goncalo Amaral. We would never have heard of Joana Cipriano if Amaral had not treated Madeleine McCann with such contempt. Two little girls fallen prey to a mindless thug seeking fame and glory.

He is a thoroughly bad lot, Sabot, and how he has been spun into some kind of White Knight is beyond me. What is on J4, and here, and other sites, is only what is known publically - I shudder to think what he has been up to privately.

In real life, both sides disclose their case files to the other side - anything not disclosed cannot be used.

So unless "Amaral's Ace" is face up on the table in front of Ms Duarte before the case starts - then it does not exist.

I bet that will be the excuse come January - the 'poorly lawyer' hasn't recovered sufficiently, so has been unable to give enough attention to Gonc.

So he will then need yet ANOTHER lawyer.

So the trial will be delayed yet again.

Then the next new lawyer will be 'poorly.

I have no doubt Amaral is going to spin this out as long as possible, his confidante Claudia even brazenly announced:

Of Course. This was a pointy we missed. No one, not even Amaral, can turn up in Court and produce New Evidence. Certainly not after more than four years. And Withholding Evidence is a Crime anyway.

Something very funny peculiar has been going on for a very long time in Portugal, if you ask me. Far too much Evidence seems to get lost, for a start.
