Re: The Portugal News newspaper
This old inn looks lovely:
http://www.theportugalnews.com/news/boliqueime-inn-history-charm-and-great-food-all-under-one-roof/27125
Located at the entrance to the village of Boliqueime, the Inn is a wonderful base for those looking to explore the under-rated area. It is also an ideal place to pop in for lunch, a drink and a snack or a relaxed evening meal. They even serve breakfasts!
On sunny days you can enjoy your meal to the full by savouring it on the pretty pool terrace. Clients are also invited to make the most of the homely bar and lounge area by laying back on one of the beautiful Chesterfield couches in front of a crackling fire, to enjoy a drink before a meal or a few drinks and a bite to eat after a long day at the office. Don’t miss happy hour!
Serving traditional, hearty ‘Inn’ food with an accomplished gastro twist, the restaurant’s evening menu is a breath of fresh air. Sure enough, favourite winter-warmer foods like pies are on it, but these aren’t your every day, run-of-the-mill pies. These are unique, homemade creations such as chicken, peach and camembert pie; spinach, prawns and halibut pie, or rabbit and mushroom pie; delicious concoctions that give a new twist to old classics.
Other evening meal dishes include roasted sticky ribs or seared duck breast with fresh blackberries, all served with fresh vegetables, proving some serious thought has been put in to the compilation and diversity of the menu. Daily specials like beef and mushroom casserole with dumplings are also available, as are Sunday roasts, which due to their popularity are now served in sittings on Sunday as well as on Thursday evenings.
And at just €8 for a full home-cooked roast there’s no wonder reservations are needed.
That is excellent value.

Re: The Portugal News newspaper
Yes bb1, I agree with you,
but, there also other old buildings in the country that also deserves to be transformed in this type of restaurants, not only in Boliqueime, just because is the town of the PT President Cavaco Silva.
Algarve depends on tourism, but also other PT regions, from north to south. Portugal is not only Algarve.

Re: The Portugal News newspaper
Your whole country has a rich history, doesn't it, Pedro? And Portuguese seafarers and explorers opened up the whole world.
