Re: LEVESON REPORT
Re: ALERT! Kate McCann to give press conference this afternoon in response to Leveson Report
ShuBob Today
Does anyone know if Brian Leveson mentions Murat at all or is his treatment by the press deemed acceptable him (Leveson)?
Here's an idea.
TRY READING THE REPORT AND FINDING OUT
Mr Robert Murat was wrongly accused of being involved in some way in the abduction and
was traduced in the British press

Bennett's gone quiet; is he working on a 20,000 word, multi-coloured diatribe to the PM, lecturing him on the error of his ways?

Didn't Fatty Morais claim she posted the diary first...when she was ahem...shagging the fat fraud

Re: LEVESON REPORT
I genuinely cannot remember, muratfan. As Team Gonc treat CdM as if it's their official news outlet, I would not be at all surprised if she and the Love Rat had their paws on the diary somewhere along the line.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
Bennetts lot do not seem to be terribly keen on discussing the Leverson findings. You would have thought they would have been all over them like a rash.
But this seems to be furthest they have got....

I sometimes wonder if they actually grasp the meaning of written English, J-P. They constantly clutch at straws to give them hope.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
Has Morais had anything to say about all of this? Specifically I am wondering what she wishes to make known about the diary and who received payment for it?

How's about a PETITION? Do not Regulate The Press?
No, perhaps not. His Petitions never go anywhere, do they.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
Oh, I just remembered. Bennett said he was going to come back to Blacksmith. He could be working on that.
Or all three.

That is the bottom line, isn't it? They don't seem able to connect the dots to when they say that they care about the child.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
They constantly say that Madeleine is dead, and for them she has to be, to go on doing what they do. So to claim any credibility they have to hope that she is dead. And believe it or not, they do still claim credibility in their search for proof that doesn't exist.
I have no doubt that they will carry on even when Madeleine is found alive, as we all hope. And their excuse then will be that it's a Cover Up. So in their own heads they can't actually lose, no matter what.
I think that the most important thing is that Kate and Gerry won't be caring about them anymore.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
Nail on the head, Sabot.
They don't care a jot about Madeleine or about other children in similar circumstances.
They must have a multitude of issues that they have never resolved which they can then project onto their targets?

I rest my case for Independent Press Regulation, Lily. I feel sick after reading that. And No, I don't expect my comment to be printed. The other three I have made on this subject haven't been. So much for Freedom of Speech in The Daily Mail.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
I am somewhat bemused here. What was the point of your PM spending out a whole heap of money on his Lordship's inquiry if he is just going to ignore what is recommended?

Re: LEVESON REPORT
It's bizarre, isn't it, Tony? Especially as polls show that, just for once, Cameron would have the backing of the voters.
Reading round the news sites, there seems to be speculation that he doesn't want to tread too hard on Murdoch toes.
I don't know what political shenanigans are going on here at all.

I would like to know that, Tony. Unless he saw himself as some sort of Saviour. In which case he misjudged Public Opinion. The Public are sick of it. Only The Press and Journalist want a totally Free Press. It's how they make their millions.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
Yes, let's not kid ourselves that the UK press give a flying one about high-minded principles involving 'free speech'. They've proven repeatedly that their main interest is ££££££££ - and also that they are grossly irresponsible and don't care who they hurt.

Re: LEVESON REPORT
He obviously knew when he asked for the inquiry what his leanings would be; so why ask?
He is appeasing no one at all at the moment, is he?

No, he isn't, Tony, it's an odd situation. I am reading talk about the victims of the press starting a petition to get something concrete done?

Re: LEVESON REPORT
They certainly didn't care about Madeleine when they were printing all that Libellous shite that cost them a fraction of what they made in Sales.
It's all about The Big Scoop, and if they print enough lies then they are bound to get a Scoop eventually

He could be hoping that The Press will be entirely on his side at the next Election.
