Re: The Portugal News newspaper
Ryanair said this week it will reduce flights to the Spanish capital by 35 percent, while trimming those to Barcelona by 23 percent.
The low cost airline says this move will cost 4,500 Spanish jobs and result in a reduction of around 4.5 million passengers to Portugal’s Iberian neighbours.
Following questions posed by The Portugal News, the Ryanair office in Madrid admitted Faro would no longer be connected to Madrid.
Oporto too, would suffer, the airline said.
“Yes, there is going to be a cut of about 20 weekly flights [between Portugal and Spain], including the cancellation of the Faro-Madrid route”, a spokesperson confirmed.

I really do not like Ryanair one bit, and I wouldn't fly on them if you paid me. IMO, it's only a matter of time before their cutting corners to save a couple of euros causes a disaster.
