According to news reports this morning, it was Pereira Cristóvão’s admission to being the brains behind at least two of the robberies which led super-judge Carlos Alexandre to deciding to let him leave the country’s now infamous Évora jail on an electronic bracelet.

I have NO idea whether that is true or not, I will look at the Portuguese tabloids in a while. It's impossible to trust a word Donn says, as she is incapable of touching a keyboard and writing a straight news story without embellishing it, and splattering it with her own choice of adjectives.

Former vice president of the Sporting is under house arrest.

In the week following the change of the coercive measures imposed on Paulo Pereira Cristóvão - under a process related theft and criminal association - the former vice president of Sporting joined this morning by the front door of the Campus Court of Justice, for another session of the trial on which accounts for various crimes related to 'Cardinal case'. The former PJ inspector saw changed the remand of coercion measure for standby duty at the residence with electronic bracelet, last Wednesday. During the session on Monday morning Cardinal case of the trial were heard in-law of former assistant referee (who on the eve of the Maritime-Sporting December 2011 saw 2,000 euros being deposited in your account, it seems to behest of Paulo Pereira Cristóvão), also the assistant referee Rui Licinio and an official of the Portuguese Football Referees Association. The Cardinal case the trial will continue in the afternoon on Monday, with the hearing of other witnesses.

Case Cardinal: Witnesses were heard

13:18 - 06/29/2015

During the morning of Monday they were heard some witnesses allegedly harmed by Paulo Pereira Cristóvão, in the Cardinal case.

Rui Licinio (assistant referee), José Padinha (APAF) and the mother of former vice president of Sporting testified at the Campus of Justice.

João Ferreira and João Capela also present but due to the delay in the session, statements were postponed to the next day July 13.

In the afternoon they will be heard other arbitrators, at a hearing to be held by video conference, since judges are not in the Lisbon area.
