JUDGEMENT DAY - BENNETT SENTENCED

Not long to wait now till Tone finds out the penalty for his demonstration of utter contempt for the High Court of England and Wales.

As the High Court represents the Crown, how much power does Judge Tugendhat have in sentencing the wretch?

Is it too much to hope....

HELLUP, OMG. I don't think I can cope for three more days. The suspense is killing me. All my hair is falling out and my fingernails are down to the quick.
Will the dastardly McCanns confine poor Mr. Bennett, old age pensioner, to some hell hole Prison? Or will they take his Life Savings? Or both, even?
What will he do now his benighted, or horrible [take your pick] wife has thrown him out? Presuming she has, of course.
Will his loyal supporters have a punch over which of them will take him in?
Has he got any loyal supporters in Papua, New Guinea?

The Judge is irrelevant of course, because he is IN IT and does what The McCanns tell him to.

PS. I'd have him here, but I can't afford to keep him. And I amn't ready to be bored to death just yet.

Sabot, Bonny posted it.....the Crown. It is H.M.'s Court and H.M.'s prison. So, his fans, co-hounders and supporters would be best advised to watch and see if either Kate or Gerry are seen driving through Buckingham Palace's gates.

I'd go further and suggest that not only will TB be treated fairly and proportionately, but that Healy & McCann will be reprimanded for the manner and scale of their Case - something which can be reflected in the award of notional costs only (£1!!) against TB.

What? How many times do they have to be told this a matter between Bennett and the COURT?

He broke his solemn and legally-binding promise to the COURT.

I've never known such stupid people before, no wonder they get everything wrong.

How on earth can The McCanns possibly be reprimanded, and by whom, pray? They haven't done anything wrong. In fact, what they have done is entirely Legal. They are attempting to stop Mr. Bennett from constantly repeating libellous rumours, which he incidentally, agreed to do.
The spin going on is utterly incredible. But who cares what The Nasties think. Mr. Bennett cannot win. He broke his word to The High Court. Even the pillocks know that.

"A 'stay' means a suspension of proceedings (slightly different from an adjournment). Usually, the proceedings are stayed...i.e. suspended, because there is an agreement of some kind, or for some other procedural reason. The proceedings are 'in suspension'.

If the 'stay' is lifted, it means that the proceedings become 'live' again. In this case, Mr Justice Tugendhat has suggested that the 'stay' be 'lifted' so that my application to revoke three of my undertakings can be heard. Otherwise, he said, my application can't be considered. The effect would be to 'reactivate' the original libel claim made by the McCanns.

I am content with that.

Hes having a laff! What the McCanns oppose if bennett trying to wriggle out of the contempt hearing by challenging three of the undertakings. In other words - "playing for time".

Even Tugendhut was a touch incredulous when Bennett said that he he was happy for Libel proceedings to be reactivated.

If Bennett couldn't afford a Libel Trial three years ago how can he afford a Libel Trial now? He has got even less money now than he had then. This is just a ploy to put off judgement on the undertaking. But I very much doubt that Judge Tugendhat is any more daft than I am.

Well, Bennett's on his own now; proceedings in Portugal are going to drag on for years, so he's wasting his time trying any more delaying tactics.
