The elements of the forces and security services concentrated opposite the parliament in Lisbon , has succeeded in pressuring the police barricade and climb the steps of Parliament .

There was a mobilization of all structures that bring together associations and unions forces and security services . Protesters brandish flags of various associations and unions , the most visible of the PSP and GNR .
Police around the sector of internal security challenge the planned cuts in salaries and the budgets of the institutions themselves police in 2014 .
For the national secretary of the CCP , Paulo Rodrigues , the participation of the entire sector should " receive special attention from the Government ."
This mobilization means, according to the director , the budget earmarked for the sector of internal security " can jeopardize not only the socio question , but also the functioning of the institutions ."

Can't afford to feed their children? Dare I suggest that this is a bit over the top? Most of them that I have seen aren't exactly thin themselves.

I suspect the honest police officers have a case, Sabot, they are being badly hit by Portugal's 'austerity' measures, which naturally don't seem to apply to politicians.

A statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the Minister Miguel Macedo " understand the readiness to accept the termination of service that has had as director " of the PSP .
Thousands of profissionaiss and police forces and security services - PSP , GNR , SEF , ASAE , marine police , prison guards , municipal police and PJ - demonstrated, on Thursday in Lisbon and then after pull down a police barrier , managed to reach the main entrance of Parliament , where they sang the national anthem , after having voluntarily demobilized .
The same note states that , now the Minister of Internal Affairs will " start the process with a view to the appointment of the new National Director of Public Security Police " .
Superintendent Paul Gomes Valente assumed the position of National Director of PSP in February 2012 , having been the first official college of police to get to the top of the hierarchy in the corporation .
