There is NOT going to be a great deal of news about this until the case goes to trial. There will be a brief flurry tomorrow when this woman appears in court, but that's it.

Anyone who cannot grasp that - as in hounders, forkers and numties - should be disbarred from speculating about anything on the grounds of mental incapacity. It's actually quite scary that the only person who seems to grasp the importance of this is Hideho, quote from her memorial thread for Mikaeel:

I gather the hearing is going to be in a closed court, with the media informed of events by officials - so the vultures aren't going to be fed today.

The vultures don't seem to care that there are four other children involved in this, and their protection is, naturally, more important than the right of armchair defectives to speculate.

Well, I am certainly not feeling good about this. She must be feeling utterly dreadful, no matter what she did. And I very much doubt that she deliberately set out to kill that child.

The Law and her own conscience will deal with her.

Sabot, to me it seems perfectly routine - there are four other minors who need to be protected from the media and the slavering mob, apart from anything else. This has nothing to do with stitching the woman up, quite the opposite.

Elements of the English media are behaving in a most shocking fashion - the Mail in particular. What on earth were they thinking about, interviewing potential witnesses like the Yodel delivery man? They never, ever seem to learn - or rather, I guess they just don't care what damage they do as long as it sells copies of the rag.

She is also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice and has been remanded in custody.
