Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
If anyone's interested, Broon's been doing a ProudScotsBut rant:
http://news.sky.com/story/1337371/brown-urges-scottish-patriots-to-vote-no
Why on earth would any sane person listen to him? The man that stole people's pensions, that sold off UK gold for a fraction of its value....the list of Brown disasters is endless.
And why is he suddenly Head Bitter? They must be really desperate, to have to wheel him out.

Has there ever been another campaign where the police federation had 2 publicly deny allegations of violence twice? http://www.spf.org.uk/2014/09/spf-media-release-independence-referendum-2/ …
That's the Scottish Police saying the hysteria in the Mail and elsewhere simply isn't true. Though the Mail has 'forgotten' to mention the trail of assaults carried out by Bitters - I wonder why?

Reader tells me 18 out of 24 Usdaw members at his company have resigned over #indyref position. Four others on holiday. Only two staying.
Some of the big unions have been using scare tactics, too. Looks like they're going to go the way of the Scottish Tories. And Lib Dems. And Labour.

Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
I am utterly gobsmacked by the perfidy. That's it for me forever with English politicians and Westminster. Cameron is just a mouthpiece. None of them have learned anything. They are all more interested in the Expenses than they are in people.
Do you know, I have been quietly festering on this side of The Channel for more than twenty years now, saying nothing much at all. But suddenly there is some hope for an island that I actually love.
Bailing out wasn't actually easy. Try being a non French speaker at the age of fifty three with no great savings, that went in paying off the mortgage. Even my children thought that I wouldn't make it.
But now there is hope.

Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
There is indeed, Sabot.
Tell you something, our southerly neighbours are in for a helluva shock in the happy event that we vote YES.
They're forever whining because we get free prescriptions, etc. Yes, we do, because the Scottish government chooses to spend the pathetic pocket money it gets on health, instead of vanity projects like high-speed trains. Incidentally, both the Scottish parliament building and the Edinburgh trams were Labour vanity projects.
Because the SNP wanted the Scottish Parliament to be held in the fine old Edinburgh High School, Labour decided that wasn't on and there would have to be a whole new building. And the trams would have cost more to abandon than to finish when the SNP got a majority in our Parliament.
People in the south also whine on about the pocket money, sorry, the grant we get being more than they do. That's because Scotland generates more wealth and revenue per head of population than they do.
Even then, the pocket money is less than we are entitled to. The electorate in England is in for a real wake-up call in the event of a YES vote.

Better Together are awful. Really awful. They are an anti-campaign; a campaign that has no redeeming qualities, no cogent arguments, no charismatic personalities, no grassroots membership, no vision of the future, no humour, passion or integrity.
They are liars.
They are backed by millionaires, Eton educated politicians, corporate interests, media shills, bigots and racists. They are not the good guys. If the referendum debate was a game of Cluedo, everyone would know from the outset it was Alastair Darling, in the kitchen, with a rolled up Daily Mail.
“Labour party supporters are working class scum, they’re a virus that should be eradicated, just a bunch of nazis”
David Cameron, April 2015
How would you rate his chances in next years election if he actually said that? How soon would he be replaced?
The answers would be zero and immediately yet this has been Labours method of winning over voters.
Politicians attack each other ruthlessly in order to score points but Better Together are the first campaign in history to change the rules and attack the population. Lamont, Sarwar, Murphy, Davidson and Darling have disgraced themselves, disgraced their party and disgraced Scotland. The only reason they still have jobs is because the media in Scotland have steadfastly refused to punish them in the way they would a member of Yes.
The pro union campaign, with Labour at its head, have waged a war of vitriol, fear and lies. They have preached inflammatory rhetoric aimed at marginalising and demonising a huge percentage of the population, an electorate they expect to fall into line in the event of a no and vote them into office next year.
No f-cking chance.

Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
I actually worked as a conductress on the old Glasgow Trams, when I wasn't on the Buses. And great fun they were too.
I once had to get off the tram and steer a drunk out of the way. All in a days work. But nothing wrong with The Trams.
So did New Labour give Glasgow better trams?
And I have forgotten the number of times I begged a lift of The Dust Cart down the Paisley Road West to get to Ibrox for the first bus out.
The dust carts were out on the roads at 4am in those days. That was before they demolished so many of those beautiful Tenements. And relegated so many of the peasants to awful gerry built flats that have all fallen down now.
That nearly broke my heart.

The word here in Dumfries and Galloway, from a friend of a friend of a friend is that the figures look like being around 42% for YES down here. I know folks will be disappointed but remember guys this is Tory heartland! To be honest if we DO reach 42% or possibly even higher then we’ll well and truly have given the Better whatsits a damned good bloody nose. By the way, the word from on high that I inferred to a week or so back was that if we, down here in D&G, hit 30% then YES will have won in Scotland!
If YES can get in the 40's in the land of the sole Tory MP and that fat UKIP-er, then we've won.

Fascinating map of the votes by social media - YES are miles ahead. Though I'm none too sure I want to know why RT has been tracking us.....

George Robertson has been designated by the Labour Party to lead a campaign to have a Yes vote nullified, on the grounds of campaign irregularities, intimidation and overspending. This has been agreed by Miliband’s office. One of the great advantages of being a small country like Scotland is that you very easily discover what is happening through family and social connections.
The media propaganda about “violent nationalists” is designed both to try to sway undecided voters to No (along with the disgraceful Gordon Brown “if you don’t know, vote No” slogan), and to provide ammunition to question the validity of the decision when they lose.

Sabot, they are so desperate to hang onto us, nothing would surprise me - ballot boxes going 'missing' from YES areas, anything is possible at this level of corruption and deceit.
