That should get the Gonzo fan club worked up again.

Gonzo and his fans are perfectly suited to each other.

Few would be surprised if an expat/s were involved in this. Except the wearers of hategoggles, who can't see the wood for the trees.

They do seem likely possible suspects so why not?

Wouldn't they be better employed asking their beloved Amaral to explain this? Following the remark about the botched original investigation, the Mirror claims:

Did Gonzo do ANY of the most basic police work? Probably not, it took much less effort for him to pass May 4th waking up, drinking his breakfast and deciding then that the parents DONE IT.

Maybe he was too preoccupied with him being made an arguido that day because of his conduct in another missing child case?

I honestly don't understand how anyone could possibly excuse that shameful lapse. It must be basic police work for any force in any country.

What we are seeing here is a situation typical of a fascist or communist police force - the accused is guilty as charged and is expected to prove his innocence, totally the reverse in a democratic country.   As I have said before some time ago, the PJ urgently needs to be purged of all the old men and restaffed with people not tainted with the old regime.   I can see why many people do not understand the PJ, they are almost alien in their narrow, blinkered version of justice.   LL

I guess that that is why we have read about such outrageous cases such as the Cipriano one and Jacinta Rees and others?

It's terrifying to see how many of the assorted numties, hounders, etc., think that if the police - any police - charge someone, that person is automatically guilty.

A lot of them also seem to think that juries and judges exist only to rubberstamp whatever the police have decided. Combined with the nonsense spread by Morais and her ilk that the PJ are the world's only infallible police force, their lynch-mob attitude is reinforced where the McCanns are concerned.

And isn't it interesting that some of the nastiest haters are ex-pats? That some of the nastiest falsehoods and malicious gossip has also come from ex-pats in the PDL area? Let's hope it's only their property values they're worried about.

I don't believe it has entered their skeleton bony case that encloses and protects the brain, that they're the reason why the five ex-patriots do not want their identities revealed. The poor souls would be ripped apart by the evil minded despots who dwell on the afore mentioned twitter hash. Their family life would be exposed and torn to shreds by the vile festering anti McCanns.

If any of the ex-pats have seen the bile, stalking and abuse spewed by the McCann-haters, they will be terrified their identities become known.

The hounders would be Researching their grannies' blood groups in minutes, and they would all be trying to find imaginary Connections to masons and GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE.

According to the policeman, the source for this latest rehash story - “as well as all the others that have preceded it” - is the McCann’s press spokesman, Clarence Mitchell.

In 2008, Mitchell was described by former Portuguese police federation chief Carlos Anjos as a man who “lies with as many teeth as he has in his head”.

“Mitchell is still clearly in charge of this rubbish”, the retired policeman told Algarve Resident. “Why does no one expose him?”


Mayhap the media would be better employed exposing dirtymac and Bennett as a pair of prurient old men that dribble about 'clothing' and 'positions' when discussing pictures of missing little girls?

Or, he could find a more productive hobby than hating the family of a missing child and meddling in efforts to find her? Cleaning the dogsh*t from round his pool to save him embarrassing reviews from his unfortunate guests might do for starters.

Anyway, it's got naff all to do with him - or any of the other haters - what the REAL police do, so they'll just have to whine impotently. That's one thing they're good at.
