I know, Bonny. Nixon did far less than this IMO.

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
Nixon had many flaws, but he did manage to calm things down internationally, not least by going to China. I don't expect politicians to be perfect, no human being is. But I do like to see some signs of competence, some sign that the president is actually taking care of the US and concerned with the wider world.
Obama seems to be driving the US to Hell in a handbasket, causing rising tempers all over the world, and consistently giving aid and assistance to people that hate the west and everything it stands for. I have never once seen him do anything that remotely resembles diplomacy, or statesmanship.

I really think it's sad to be honest. It should not be like this.

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
http://www.infowars.com/new-reports-bergdahl-left-note-declaring-intention-to-desert-renounce-citizenship-the-night-he-walked-off/
With every day that goes by, indications keep building that the Obama administration violated a law that required the president to inform Congress before any Guantanamo Bay prisoners were transferred; overturned a longstanding U.S. policy of refusing to negotiate publicly with terrorists, and handed a determined enemy a victory by releasing five of its top commanders — all to win the release of a soldier who deserted his comrades U.S. and left a written statement declaring his intention to do so.
And all of this is happening at a time the administration was desperate to get attention away from the Veterans Administration scandal that’s rocked Obama for a week. Commentators like MSNBC’s Chuck Todd have even said the White House expected news of Bergdahl’s release to be greeted with euphoria.
According to recent reports, administration insiders say its foreign policy can be boiled down to “Don’t do stupid sh*t.”
You’d never know it.
Think that just about sums it up.

It does sum it up Bonny. All I seem to hear from people is who is the worst US president EVER. He is in that very short list.

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
Carter was just ineffectual, but there's a malice to Obama, IMO. He seems to deliberately do things that are against the long-term interests of the US and the wider world, and his inner circle are as corrupt as any oligarchs.
There is NO point in the UK announcing, as it just has, that it's going to take action against any UK passport holders that have been fighting in Syria against Assad. Last year, Cameron and Obama were all set to have US/UK troops fighting on the same side as Al Quaeda and its associates. That was my first wake-up call that there was something well wrong with Obama - Cameron's just an idiot.

http://www.itv.com/news/update/2014-06-04/assad-wins-syrian-election-with-88-7-of-vote/
Assad wins Syrian election with '88.7% of vote'
Last updated Wed 4 Jun 2014
President Bashar al-Assad has won the Syrian presidential election with 88.7% of the vote, according to the parliament's speaker.
Syrians in rebel-held areas across the country dismissed the polls as a sham and a farce.
Well, they would, wouldn't they?
1. Those terrorists (I refuse to call sub-human scum that crucifies enemies and eats human organs 'rebels') wouldn't let anyone vote in the areas they still control.
2. Assorted Western embassies linked with the US refused to let Syrian exiles vote, unlike Lebanon, etc, where refugees were able to vote freely. And did, for Assad.
3. Obama and co will be beside themselves with rage now, as they have NO excuse to continue to attack the elected Syrian government via their disgusting proxies. Especially as they enthused over the votes in Afganhistan and Ukraine.
4. Obama got 100% of the vote in some American wards, where he also acheived the remarkable feat of achieving 110% turnouts.

Today's scandal from the Empire of Obama:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/germany-investigates-alleged-nsa-merkel-phone-tap/2014/06/04/71bc0200-ebdb-11e3-b10e-5090cf3b5958_story.html
Germany investigates alleged NSA Merkel phone tap
BERLIN — German prosecutors have opened an investigation into the alleged monitoring of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cellphone by the U.S. National Security Agency, officials said Wednesday, in a move that could again complicate diplomatic relations between the two allies.
It wasn’t immediately clear what the new investigation might mean in terms of possible prosecutions of Americans.
Documents provided by National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden indicated in October the U.S. was monitoring Merkel’s cellphone conversations, as well as those of 35 other foreign leaders. Merkel expressed outrage and accused Washington of a grave breach of trust.
In the ensuing diplomatic fallout, President Barack Obama acknowledged Germany’s anger and promised that new guidelines would cut back on such monitoring, except in the case of a national security interest.
“The leaders of our close friends and allies deserve to know that if I want to learn what they think about an issue, I will pick up the phone and call them rather than turning to surveillance,” Obama said at the time.
Following the news of the German probe, Obama’s deputy national security adviser, Ben Rhodes, said the U.S. believes direct dialogue between the two countries rather than an investigation is the best way to address Germany’s concerns.
“We believe we have an open line and good communication” with Merkel and her team, Rhodes told reporters aboard Air Force One as Obama flew to Brussels for a meeting of the Group of Seven nations.
After mulling for months whether to open a formal probe, Chief Federal Prosecutor Harald Range determined “that sufficient factual evidence exists that unknown members of U.S. intelligence services spied on the mobile phone of Chancellor Angela Merkel,” his office said.
“The operation of a foreign intelligence service’s secret agents is a criminal offense in Germany,” Range told reporters after the decision was announced. “And that’s not dependent on whether it is the intelligence agency of a friend or of another nation.”

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
From:
http://www.ctvnews.ca/world/bashar-assad-claims-landslide-election-win-in-syria-1.1852856
In Beirut, Kerry sharply criticized the Syrian election, calling it "a great big zero." It can't be considered fair, he said, "because you can't have an election where millions of your people don't even have an ability to vote."
The serial liar has omitted to mention that it was HIS terrorist allies that prevented people voting in parts of Syria, and embassies allied to the US which prevented exiled Syrians from voting.
Even without those areas, there was a 70% turnout - not as good as the 110% turnout acheived by Obama in some areas, admittedly.
And if it's good enough for Ukraine and Afghanistan, it's good enough for Syria.
Incidentally, as Kerry's in Damascus, it's a fair bet there is going to be an upsurge in violence in that area before too long.

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
http://news.sky.com/story/1276061/cameron-it-is-essential-the-eu-changes
Barack Obama has warned about the effect of the UK leaving the EU as tensions over who gets one of Europe's top jobs intensified.
In a press conference alongside David Cameron, the US President said it was "hard for me to imagine the European Union project going well in the absence of Britain".
It came after Mr Cameron held "candid" talks with the German Chancellor in an attempt to find a way of ending the impasse over the next president of the European Commission.
And what, pray tell, is Obama going to do about it if Britain chooses to leave? Drone Nigel Farage?

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
I do wonder if he's marching headlong into a trap? That Putin is doing to him what President Reagan did to Soviet Russia - bankrupting the US?
Here's the thing. The Russian economy is smaller than that of the US, but it's in the black, and Russia can easily support itself.
The US is horribly in debt, including trillions to China. But Obama is strutting the world, ordering the US military to go here, there and everywhere, and handing out millions/billions to all sorts of crooks, sorry, 'democrats'. And he's doing it all on borrowed money.

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
This blog has very obviously got its own viewpoint on Middle Eastern matters, but setting that aside, just look at all these pictures of the Syrian elections:
http://ingaza.wordpress.com/2014/06/03/syrians-out-to-vote-the-photos-speak-for-themselves/
I don't see any of those thousands of people desperate to be 'liberated' by Kerry and his gang of cannibals. How dare Kerry say they don't count!
And thank God Miliband somehow or other prevented us bombing these people; if he never does anything else in his life, he can be proud of saving so many lives. Though I'm still none too clear how he did it.....

Yup. And I bet all those Syrian women wearing normal clothes, voting, and going about their business are heartbroken that they aren't going to be 'liberated' by Al Quaeda, too.

That's an interesting piece.
I watched White House Down, last night, it was pretty entertaining, a proper action movie.
Unfortunately, I found myself thinking it was a pity the US didn't have President Jamie Foxx, bringing world peace while being personally courageous, instead of Obama, causing at best raised tempers and acrimony, and at worst bloodshed and mayhem, everywhere he goes, while acting like, well, a big girl's blouse.

Unfortunately, I can absolutely imagine him spouting left-wing theories at some chattering classes dinner party. It won't be the old-fashioned sort of defence of the working man, perish the thought, no!
It will all be froth about how lefty social workers, bien pensants, and statists know what's best for the peasants, and how best to bend the ungrateful real world to their wishes.
