Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
This may raise a smile - slightly - Lily. ISIS has been on a rant:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-09-21/isis-slams-mule-jews-obama-demands-killing-disbelievers-especially-filthy-french
Most of it is the usual ISIS rant, but they show the same respect towards the esteemed Ketchup Gigolo, John Kerry, as the rest of the world does, referring to him as:
Kerry, the uncircumcised old geezer
And now I think of it, whoever wrote that rant must be British, possibly a Londoner, as not many people use the word GEEZER.
ETA, if that is an English ISIS, it would also explain why he was so rude about the French and their cleaning routines...

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
Do you know, one of the few sensible comments on the whole business came from Bradley, now Chelsea, Manning, of all people, who emerged from her jail cell to speak to a newspaper? He/she said:
1. Do NOT attack them - you will instantly give them an external enemy. You will also paint a target on the back of every US citizen, everywhere.
2. Co-operate with Syria and Iran, who have been fighting them for some time. Help Syria and Iran keep them contained in a small area of the Middle East, and they will inevitably start fighting amongst themselves.
3. Cut off the money, even though US supposed allies have been buying cheap oil from them.
4. Stop glamourising them and reacting to their horrible videos, you're doing their work for them.
It's worrying when you realise that a transgender woman imprisoned for swiping classified cables is talking more sense than the 'experts'.....

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
Turkish security forces have clashed with Kurdish protesters on the border as the country struggles to cope with refugees fleeing Islamic State militants in Syria.
More than 130,000 Syrian Kurds have crossed into Turkey in the last four days alone, and authorities are preparing for many more.
Security forces fired tear gas and water cannon at hundreds of Kurdish youths gathered on the Turkish side of the border near Suruc.
Kurdish fighters say they have halted the IS advance east of the Syrian city of Kobani - also known as Ayn al Arab - just a few miles from the Turkish border, but that fierce fighting continues.
Residents fleeing Kobani said the militants were executing people of all ages in seized villages.
Turkey's deputy prime minister Numan Kurtulmus warned the number could rise to "a refugee wave that can be expressed by hundreds of thousands".
"This is not a natural disaster. What we are faced with is a man-made disaster.
"We don't know how many more villages may be raided, how many more people may be forced to seek refuge.
"An uncontrollable force at the other side of the border is attacking civilians. The extent of the disaster is worse than a natural disaster."
A balaclava-clad Kurdish activist Shirwan, 28, said: "We all want to cross the border. We tried yesterday but they attacked us, and we will try again today."
Locals said protesters had gathered from cities across Turkey's predominantly Kurdish southeast.
Conservative estimates say several hundred Turkish Kurds have already crossed to join the fight.
The advances by Sunni insurgents just across Turkey's southern border has alarmed the government in the country's capital Ankara.
But Turkey has been slow to join calls for a coalition to fight IS, concerned in part about about links between the Syrian Kurds and Turkey's own Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which waged an armed campaign for Kurdish rights over several decades.
While Turkey has denied giving any support to the Islamist militants, the West argues its open borders during Syria's three-year civil war allowed IS and other radical groups to grow in power.
The PKK issued a rallying call to Turkey's Kurds on Sunday, saying "supporting this heroic resistance" in Kobani was a "debt of honour".
Meanwhile, IS has called on supporters to attack citizens of the US, France and other countries which have joined a coalition to combat the terror group.
An IS spokesman also taunted US President Barack Obama and other Western "crusaders", saying their forces faced inevitable defeat.
The US and France have launched airstrikes against IS targets in recent weeks, and the UK has not ruled out joining the bombing campaign.
Despite having already bombed targets in Iraq, France has ruled out extending its airstrikes to targets in Syria.
Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said France would continue to support the moderate opposition in Syria, but would not be bombing targets "by air".
The US has also rejected a proposal floated by Iran in which Tehran would cooperate in the fight against IS in exchange for flexibility on its nuclear program.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the effort by world powers to persuade Iran to give up its nuclear program is "entirely separate" from President Obama attempts to build a coalition against IS.
"The United States will not be in the position of trading aspects of Iran's nuclear program to secure commitments to take on ISIL," he said.
I somehow don't think Iran and its allies are going to see things that way.

Illegal, but fit to serve: Pentagon to recruit undocumented immigrants
Published time: September 26, 2014 10:32 Get short URL
The Pentagon is to start recruiting undocumented immigrants who came into the US as minors and possess valuable skills like speaking Persian and Chinese. The program offering the opportunity is capped at 1,500 recruits per year.
The new policy revealed by the DoD on Thursday expands the existing pilot program called Military Accessions Vital to National Interest, or MAVNI. It has been tried since 2008, offering positions in the US armed forces to foreigners living in America legally as refugees or under a temporary visa.
Starting next fiscal year, MAVNI will also apply to illegal residents who came to US with their parents before age 16, reports the Military Times. The potential recruits would be selected from those eligible for the 2012 Obama administration policy known as Deferred Action for Child Arrivals, or DACA. Getting a DACA illegal immigrant status involves a background check by the Homeland Security Department.
The Pentagon recruits some 5,000 foreigners each year, most of them ‘green card’ holders. The MAVNI program may account for up to 1,500 recruits annually, although the military services are not required to accept them. In practice the Army has been the only service to accept a significant number, while the Navy and Marine Corps are not seeking applicants under it.
A recruit must meet higher-than-usual standards and have certain skills valued by the US military to get a position. Those include medical training and language expertise. Speakers of Arabic, Chinese, Pushtu, Korean, Russian, Urdu, Hindi and Hungarian are among those in demand.
The expansion of the program to illegal residents adds between 1.2 million and 2.1 million children, teenagers and young adults to the potential talent pool. The recruits would be offered an expedited path to US citizenship as an extra incentive to serve.
But some Pentagon officials have doubt over the number of recruits who would actually qualify for the MAVNI program.
“We’re just not sure how many within that existing population of DACA would have the linguistic skills to qualify,” said one defense official familiar with the policy change. “These are kids who entered the country at a fairly young age and have basically grown up in the United States, so the limit of their language talents would probably be the language that they received at home.”
The Pentagon’s move is part of a wider effort by the Obama administration to ease pressure on immigrants and integrate them into American society. It comes amid frustration in the White House with the failure of Congress to pass a substantial immigration reform.
What could possibly go wrong?

Biden blames US allies in Middle East for rise of ISIS
US Vice-President Joe Biden has accused America’s key allies in the Middle East of allowing the rise of the Islamic State (IS), saying they supported extremists with money and weapons in their eagerness to oust the Assad regime in Syria.
America’s “biggest problem” in Syria is its regional allies, Biden told students at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University on Thursday.
“Our allies in the region were our largest problem in Syria,” he said, explaining that Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were “so determined to take down Assad,” that in a sense they started a “proxy Sunni-Shia war” by pouring “hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of tons of weapons” towards anyone who would fight against Assad.
“And we could not convince our colleagues to stop supplying them,” said Biden, thus disassociating the US from unleashing the civil war in Syria.
“The outcome of such a policy now is more visible,” he said, as it turned out they supplied extremists from Al-Nusra Front and Al-Qaeda.
All of a sudden the regional powers that sponsored anti-Assad rebels awakened to the dawn of a major international security threat in the face of ISIS – now called Islamic State. After being essentially thrown out of Iraq it found open space and territory in eastern Syria and established close ties with the Al-Nusra Front which the US had earlier declared a terrorist group.
Now Washington needs a coalition of Sunni states to fight the Islamic State because “America can't once again go in to Muslim nation and be the aggressor, it has to be led by Sunnis, to attack a Sunni organization [the IS],” Biden said, acknowledging that it is for the first time that the US uses a geopolitical strategy.
“Even if we wanted it to be, it cannot be our fight alone,” Biden said. “This cannot be turned into a US ground war against another Arab nation in the Middle East.”
Er, what? Biden another one with dementia, is he? 'Forgotten' all about those nice rebels the US was arming and training?
I can't see this going down any too well in the Middle East; the countries he's accusing may be allies of convenience, but that doesn't mean there is any love lost for the US. Especially when Washington is blaming other people for its own foul-ups.

Oh Lord....
http://news.sky.com/story/1397185/coalition-pilot-shot-down-and-captured-by-is
slamic State supporters claim the militants have shot down a coalition warplane in Syria and taken the Jordanian pilot captive.
The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said the activists say the plane was brought down near Raqqa city, a stronghold of Islamic State fighters in northern Syria.
"We have confirmed reports that IS members took a (non-Syrian) Arab pilot prisoner after shooting his plane down with an anti-aircraft missile near Raqqa city," the monitors said.
The IS in Raqqa published photographs on jihadist websites purporting to show its fighters holding the captured pilot, with a caption identifying him as Jordanian and giving his name.
Bad enough that they've taken him prisoner, but this is even worse:
The militants claimed to have shot down the warplane with a heat-seeking missile.
If they've finally worked out how to use all those missing MANPADs, etc., then anything flying in the Middle East is in danger.

http://www.presstv.com/detail/2014/12/27/392011/us-drops-weapons-in-areas-held-by-isil/
Volunteer forces fighting against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists say US military aircraft have dropped weapons in areas held by the terrorist group in Iraq.
American helicopters dropped boxes of weapons in Yathrib and Balad districts in Iraq’s Salahuddin Province, according to the fighters.
The report comes as the Iraqi army and volunteer fighters appear to be gaining the upper hand and making significant gains against ISIL.
In October, a video showed the terrorist group captured a bundle of US weapons airdropped in the Syrian border town of Kobani.
The US military admitted that it had dropped 28 bundles filled with grenades, mortar rounds and other supplies that were intended for Kurdish fighters.
The video showed masked terrorists inspecting the military equipment, which was airdropped in areas controlled by ISIL near Kobani.
The US Central Command said that the airdrops, including weapons and ammunition, and medical supplies, were "intended to enable continued resistance against ISIL's attempts to overtake Kobani."
The US and its allies have been conducting airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria.
They say they are carrying out the airstrikes against the Takfiris in both countries in order to curb their advances in the region.
However, the air raids have so far failed to halt the insurgents’ military gains.

http://rt.com/news/220079-mccain-syria-visit-illegal/
Several senior US and French officials, including US Senator John McCain, entered Syria illegally – without proper visas – on separate occasions, thus violating the country’s sovereignty, Syria said in a complaint submitted to the United Nations.
The list of officials also included former French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and former US diplomat Peter Galbraith, according to a letter dated December 30 cited by Reuters and AFP.
n the letter, Syria’s UN ambassador Bashar Ja’afari urged UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the Security Council to put additional pressure on governments to implement “the necessary measures against their nationals who enter Syrian territory illegally.”
“Such actions are a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and of the resolutions of the Security Council concerning Syria,” Ja’afari said.
I still want to know why McCann hasn't been charged with treason, or aiding the enemy - something - for this:

he US military has announced it will send about 400 specialists and hundreds more “enabling forces” to train the rebel Syrian opposition as Washington takes its fight against the Assad government and Islamic State to a new level.
The Pentagon mission, expected to begin as early as March, envisions US specialists training Syrian opposition forces from military bases in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, Cmdr. Elissa Smith, a Defense Department spokeswoman, was quoted by the Army Times as saying.

In addition to the 400 military specialists, so-called “enabling forces,” which are to serve as a security detail, will also accompany the trainers, Smith said.
The US-led coalition, which began its bombing campaign over Syrian territory against the jihadist forces of Islamic State [also known as ISIS, or ISIL] in September 2014, includes Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The Arab states will be expected to contribute troops to the US operation, which expects to train about 5,400 rebel forces each year for three years, according to Defense One, which first broke the news on the number of US specialists preparing for deployment.
At least four training sites among the coalition countries will be selected to host the US specialists for what is anticipated to be a six- to eight-week rotation, Defense One reported.

400 U.S. troops will deploy to train Syrian opposition
As the 'Syrian opposition' IS Al-Nusrah, ISIS and similar scum, anyone still have any doubts about what Obama really is? He's sending US troops to further train the very people that have been slaughtering Christians without a word of protest from the US government.

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
http://www.almasdarnews.com/article/3000-fsa-fighters-defect-isis-qalamoun-mountains/
Up to 3,000 Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters have defected from the organization and given ba’yah (religious payment; servitude) to the self-proclaimed Caliph of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), Sheikh Ibrahim Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, in the Qalamoun Mountains of the Rif Dimashq Governorate – these fighters belonged to multiple brigades that formed the conglomeration of the FSA.
http://www.infowars.com/3000-moderate-rebels-defect-to-isis-us-preparing-5000-more/
Reported along the peripheries of the Western media, it was reported recently that some 3,000 so-called “moderate rebels” of the “Free Syrian Army” had defected to the “Islamic State” (ISIS). While not the first time so-called “moderates” have crossed over openly to Al Qaeda or ISIS, it is one of the largest crossovers that has occurred.
With them, these 3,000 fighters will bring weapons, cash, equipment, and training provided to them by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United States, the UK, and perhaps most ironic of all in the wake of the recent terror attack in Paris, France. Indeed, ISIS and Al Qaeda’s ranks continue to swell amid this insidious network of “terror laundering” that is only set to grow.

Islamic State Has More Than Tripled Its Territory In Syria Since U.S. Started Airstrikes

The following Wall Street Journal graphic shows that ISIS has more than tripled the amount of territory it holds in Syria since the U.S. started bombing:

Probably helps that the US keeps airdropping weapons to ISIS 'accidentally'.

http://www.wnd.com/2015/01/generals-conclude-obama-backed-al-qaida/
The Citizen’s Commission on Benghazi’s interim report, in a paragraph titled “Changing sides in the War on Terror,” alleges “the U.S. was fully aware of and facilitating the delivery of weapons to the Al Qaeda-dominated rebel militias throughout the 2011 rebellion.”
The report asserted the jihadist agenda of AQIM, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group and other Islamic terror groups represented among the rebel forces was well known to U.S. officials responsible for Libya policy.
“The rebels made no secret of their Al Qaeda affiliation, openly flying and speaking in front of the black flag of Islamic jihad, according to author John Rosenthal and multiple media reports,” the interim report said. “And yet, the White House and senior Congressional members deliberately and knowingly pursued a policy that provided material support to terrorist organizations in order to topple a ruler who had been working closely with the West actively to suppress Al Qaeda.”
The report concluded: “The result in Libya, across much of North Africa, and beyond has been utter chaos, disruption of Libya’s oil industry, the spread of dangerous weapons (including surface-to-air missiles), and the empowerment of jihadist organizations like Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/9643672/putin-and-assad-have-made-fools-of-the-west/
At the outset of Syria’s brutal four-year civil war, I was an almost unique voice in the British media deploring the push to depose the secular dictator President Bashar al-Assad, especially in the absence of a genuinely popular uprising against him. Here in The Spectator I tried to point out that such a short-term strategy would have devastating long-term consequences. Assad, I argued, would not fall, because the people of Damascus would not rise up against him. The so-called secular rebels were in fact vicious Islamists in disguise. Western interests in the region would be dramatically undermined by Saudi and Iranian militias, who would fight a devastating proxy war. Syria’s extraordinarily diverse population risked annihilation as a result. And we could even end up provoking a full-blown war with Russia.
No one listened, and I tired of trying to convince them of their folly. Four years on, the suffering of the Syrian people — 250,000 slaughtered, half of the population internally displaced and millions more made refugees — is obvious. And last week, in the midst of Europe’s biggest refugee crisis since the second world war (brought about in no small part by fleeing Syrians), the extent of the West’s geopolitical miscalculations became painfully evident. Jihadists of various affiliations, who are now unequivocally the only opposition, were encroaching on Syria’s Alawite-dominated coastal heartland, and inching ever closer towards Damascus. So the long-time Syrian ally Russia called Washington’s bluff by establishing military bases in the regime stronghold Latakia. In a flash its tanks, fighter jets, military advisers, warships and even its most modern anti-aircraft missile system were in place. Its engineers constructed an airport landing strip almost overnight, as its navy conducted menacing drills in the nearby (Russian-leased) Syrian port of Tartus......more at link.
Russian Navy en route to Syria.
At least no-one has to puzzle over which 'side' Russia is on - it's the Christian/moderate/secular side. Which is us plebs, as opposed to our sh*t-stirring governments.
Let's hope they stomp ISIS and all the other so-called 'nice rebels' that have been financed by the West into the dust.
