German politicians have been mocked for suggesting that desperate refugees arriving in Munich could disrupt Oktoberfest celebrations, and may find drunk people “odd”, as 6million festivalgoers descend on the city.

Some 7.5million litres of beer are expected to be consumed by revellers at the two-week festival in Munich starting on Saturday, which first took place 182 years ago.

This year, however, officials have raised eyebrows with their attempts to reassure festival-goers that refugees who have fled bloody conflicts in the Middle East may be bothered by the event....etc.

Thousands of aggressive young moslem men?

Girls in low-cut national dress? Vast quantities of beer? Huge mounds of sausages and roast pork?

What could possibly go wrong?

Nothing if they take part.  If not?  Everything.

You just know they won't join in. It will give them something else to moan about as they carp about everything and everyone in Europe.

The bunch that can't get into Turkey has now gone on a hunger strike at the border; it doesn't seem to have dawned on them that if they keep it up, they will solve at least part of the problem.

No doubt the media will take more sad pictures and attempt to emotionally blackmail readers into giving a flying one.

Now that is the best idea......A hunger strike.

Groups pouring into a no-man’s land area between Hungary and Serbia refused to move, making threats to starve themselves to death if they were not allowed to pass.

Dozens angrily threw down bread, tubs of chocolate spread and bottles of water given to them by charities.

Aasif Abdullah, from Afghanistan, said: “We will not eat this food or drink their water until we can cross this border.

"We will die here on the road, we will starve ourselves to death and then they will have to pick up our bodies from the streets.

“Is that what Europe wants? We do not want to stay here, we want to pass and will not move from here until we are allowed to.”

A young boy was lifted up to hang a T-shirt, daubed with the words “Europe Shame”, on the three-metre-high wire gates.

While IIhan Sadi, from Syria, shouted: “Remove these borders. Remove these police otherwise we will not move ourselves.

"We have travelled hundreds of miles to be here and suddenly now we cannot pass. Where is the humanity in this? Show me.

“They offer food and water but we will not take it.”


They really know how to endear themselves, don't they? If they refuse to eat or drink because they won't follow the rules...oh well, it's up to them.

If they can't do that, what rules will they follow?

Hungarian police have fired tear gas after hundreds of migrants broke through a razor wire fence on the border with Serbia.

What is it they think is going to happen when they force their way into Hungary? Besides get arrested and thrown out of the country?

Anyone watching that can see for themselves that the 'migrants' are almost all aggressive young men.

RT's lost the picture now, but just before it did, the 'migrants' were throwing stones and other missiles at the police.

My goodness.  Do those young men think they can force their way into where ever they want?  Sorry, it appears they do.  I saw them throwing stones, Bonny.

Their reporter is being irritating - as if this is all Hungary's fault.

Now someone's got a bullhorn and appears to be organising the 'migrants' to charge police lines, while yelling - guess what? Allahu Akbar, naturally.

Water cannon and tear gas have been used so far, but if it keeps up like this, sooner or later someone is going to use live rounds.

Oh, the Sky guy has finally admitted that they are almost all men - he'll lose his bonus for going off-message like that.

I've been watching the Sky feed.  This can only get worse.....

Now he's claiming they're hungry and thirsty.

That would be because they refused food and water yesterday because they were on 'hunger strike'.....

Of course the reporters are reporting it from the poor refugee point of view.  I feel sorry for the women and children caught up in this.
