Oh, that's good, LL, they're not hanging about!

This is just a rehash of the story so far, C4 must have all the rights to the main events.

Incidentally, the York lot are hilarious, they're still spitting hate on their FB page and insisting this is just a temporary reburial. They're as bad as the Gonzo Fan Club, no grasp on reality at all. yernuts

The folk involved in the reburial have been speaking. It's very touching to see how determined they all are to get this spot-on.

Someone told me that most of the negative comments that have been posted on various media websites have been posted by the disgraced Platagenet Alliance trolls. No surprise there! LL

The Yorkies are so bitter, they're actually are rather funny. It doesn't seem to matter how many times people say, But he wasn't the Duke of York, so I do hope they will be demanding Prince Andrew is buried in York Minster when he goes to the great ski resort in the sky.

Frankly, I prefer Leicester Cathedral to York Minster, it's more human and alive somehow. It seems to be much more part of the community, and not just a tourist attraction. It all looks good, and very much uniquely Richard's.

I found this on one of the Leicester pages:

Re-interment of King Richard III - Page 4 Rtable10

It's the gilded alabaster table I saw a few days ago. I will not comment on that orange thing - apparently, it's the new Bishop's Throne.

The C4 broadcast is on now, I hope you can see it, LL?

Oh my, the streets of Leicester are packed, with people throwing white roses on his coffin! It's on a horse-drawn carriage - looks like a gun carriage - with four horses, mounted police, and two guys in armour in front.

Are they really, Bonny?

His Grace must be smiling down from where he is now......at last.  Vindicated and with a proper funeral more befitting a king in the days ahead.

Huge, huge crowds, Lily, it's awesome.

We're at the Cathedral now, the formal handover of custody of his body will take place shortly. The Duke of Gloucester (the current one) is rather the guest of honour, and is very be-medalled.

It's very much High Church of England, so it wouldn't be totally unfamiliar to Richard - this is Compline, apparently, and the service is identical to the Catholic service.

The knights in armour have gone on ahead, and are flanking the Cathedral door.

The flowers and Richard's banner have been removed from the coffin now. It's being carried in as the bells toll.

What is interesting (to me at least) is that I found the Telegraph live of the handover.  So, decided on a whim to play Zadok the Priest right before it happened.  The whole thing was in sync with the people walking and then when he went to the door were the cries of "God Save The King".  It was awesome to say the least.

Isn't it emotional?

The coffin is now in front of the font, with various prayers etc., being said. The most beautiful pall has been put on it - it's black, with embroidered depictions of the people important to Richard in life, and also of those who found him again.

There is also a 15th century Bible, and a rather nervous-looking Brownie has just placed the remade crown on the coffin.

It's wonderful, Lily. It's now the normal Compline service, so it's cut from the Cathedral for a while.

That might help, Lily.

That's the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster - from what I understand this service is Catholic, the one on Thursday will be Anglican. Richard would be a bit bemused, all services were in Latin. Very emotional. LL

I think everyone is emotional, LL, rather unexpectedly. It's ....awesome, in the proper sense of the word. It's not changing what happened in history, but it's putting it right? I suspect there is also a terrible feeling of loss, and what might have been.

The Cardinal was very good, managing to tie everything together. Now the choir is singing a piece called, Take him earth, for cherishing, which I gather was sung at JFK's memorial?
