In a short video, YouTube user JoeySalads takes on a social experiment to prove why child safety is so important.

Stating that 250,000 kids are kidnapped every year, Joey decided to approach a number of women in the park.

Once introduced, he asks them whether he thinks their children would talk to him or run back to them.

He tells them: "If I go over to your kid right now as a stranger, do you think he or she will talk to me or run back to you?"

All three parents filmed say they believe their child would run to them.

But Joey proves that with the aid of a cute puppy the kids would happily walk off with him.

In each scenario, the mum's stand in shock wondering why their kids would do that.

One angry parent tells her toddler son: "Just because you see somebody with a dog, doesn't mean you go home with them."

The video was uploaded over the weekend to raise awareness for child abduction.

It has now been viewed 35,000 views and has received more than 4,000 likes.
