Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
He's a rabid follower of Tony Benn, who gave up his title to become an MP, he wanted the Royal family zapped and campaigned to get HM's head off stamps and government notepaper, he was a nasty little man who pretended to be the 'uncle type' - cuis of tea and a pipe stuffed with the cheapest bakky he could buy. Corbyn is a galloping marxist and would love the UK to be ruled along the lines of N Korea. LL

Yes, I get that unmistakable central planning control freak vibe off him too, LL. He doesn't seem to spend any time with the Great Unwashed aka British blue-collar workers, just with other spoiled cultural marxists. Neither can I find any sign of him ever having actually achieved anything in his three decades of occupying the cushiest seat in the UK, safely berthed with the luvvy millionaire marxists.

Corbyn and his best mate, Vanessa Redgrave, well known rabid left winger, supporter of the IRA, whose father, Sir Michae Redgrave was a card carrying commie, etc, etc. Nuff said. LL

That's exactly what I mean, LL - millionaire marxists, like that clown Russel Brand. Not one of them has ever got their hands dirty working for a living.
I can't stand them - in case you hadn't noticed.

Labour leadership race descends into chaos as Burnham demands crisis talks over 'large scale' infiltration by Tory saboteurs
Andy Burnham raises fears the contest could be open to legal challenge
Comes amid growing fears 'thousands' of infiltrators have been given vote
Labour officials insist every voter will be vetted to check they are legitimate
But scores of Corbyn supporters have been barred from voting in election
Mr Corbyn warned he would 'challenge' result if his supporters are banned

Don't ask me what's going on, there is so much mud being slung by everyone that I can't sort it out.
And I have NO idea why this 'election' is going on over several weeks. Why Labour didn't ask the Electoral Reform Society to oversee it, to ensure it was all above board, I have no idea.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
http://www.buzzfeed.com/jimwaterson/cats-always-need-better-vetting-procedures#.ip2E9YB15
BuzzFeed News registered Ned, a three-year-old tabby belonging to one of our journalists, as a Labour party supporter earlier this month and he has since been sent a ballot paper, enabling us to vote in the contest for the party’s next leader in the name of a cat.
This is despite Labour’s pledge to ensure that the hundreds of thousands of applications it received over the summer from new supporters were actually from real people who appear on the electoral roll.
Ned does not appear on the electoral roll because Ned is a cat.
The revelation follows this week’s purge by Labour HQ of hundreds of people who had signed up to vote in the leadership election.
Many were rejected following evidence they had recently supported other parties, although some of the people deprived of a vote insist they have always been loyal to Labour.
BuzzFeed News has previously shown it is possible to steal votes from users who have uploaded pictures of their Labour leadership ballots to social media, while many supporters of the Conservatives and Lib Dems claim they have been able to register to vote in the contest.
Meanwhile, leaked notes passed to the Guardian this week suggest the party “disregarded advice of lawyers to add [an] extra verification stage for new members” in order to protect the party against a legal challenge following the result.
It cost just £3 to sign Ned up as a registered supporter of Labour.
All that was required was his home address, date of birth – we calculated Ned’s human age to be 29 using this cat age calculator – and contact details. We set up a Hotmail address for this purpose, soupycampbell1986@hotmail.com, because we reckoned Ned would be the sort of cat that would still use Hotmail.
On Ned’s behalf we ticked the box saying the cat endorsed the values of the Labour party. Hayley Campbell, who owns Ned, said that in reality he had rarely expressed any political views other than “he doesn’t like Irish people”.
However she noted that “both his collar and a bow-tie are red”, which could point towards a Labour affinity.
Within days, the newly enfranchised feline voter began receiving a torrent of emails addressed to “Dear Ned” from candidates for the various elections, in addition to countless leaflets through his door......More shambles at link.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
Speaking alongside his leadership rivals Andy Burnham, Yvette Cooper and Liz Kendall on a live debate on BBC 5Live, Mr Corbyn said there was nothing 'subtle' about the criticism he was facing.
He added: 'If anyone wants to express an opinion that's absolutely fine. But I would hope that people who have served in government and many other places would actually discuss policies and not involve themselves in demolishing somebody else's character or questioning their abilities.
'I just think that is a pathetic way of doing things and they should be stronger on the policy issues. There are serious policies to be debated in the party – can't we stick to that?'

If he's going to start crying about people making rude remarks, then he should have stuck to....whatever it is he's been doing for the last thirty-odd years in Islington.

He can't have been paying much attention to political reality for the last thirty years, or he would know it's all about demolishing people's characters and questioning their abilities.
He ain't seen nothing yet - though I suspect such a delicate, sensitive flower is in the wrong job.

Oh, by all means laugh, Lily. Corbyn is no-one's problem except the Labour party's. With him as leader, they are liable to be out of office for a generation.

William Hague Among Downing Street's New Peers
A further 45 peers are named, prompting criticism from some quarters, who say the move will cost £1.2m a year
As widely predicted, the Mone woman, and Alistair Darling have both been rewarded with peerages - and £300 a day expenses.

Aargh!!!!!

Rt Hon Daniel Alexander – Lately Chief Secretary to the Treasury. For political and public service
He's a former LibDem MP that lost his seat to the SNP in May...
Is Cameron trying to HELP Corbyn, by outraging as many people as possible?

On the subject of - why Corbyn is unelectable:
https://yougov.co.uk/news/2015/08/27/you-may-say-im-dreamer-inside-mindset-jeremy-corby/
“You may say that I’m a dreamer”: inside the mindset of Jeremy Corbyn’s supporters
They are totally out of step with the voting population.
The House of Lords is an absolute disgrace, Lily - it was more democratic when it was made up of old buffers with inherited titles.
