@garydunion
If you're wondering what #greensongs is about, it's a juvenile, bigoted attack on Greens for trying to include people of non-binary gender.

Seriously, Green folks - THIS is why people think you're knobs and don't vote for you:
Ah, the merry banter of Scottish politics! The Donald is wise to steer clear - we're even ruder than he is.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
Confused? The merry banter is over this stupid Green blog:
xxxhttp://bright-green.org/2015/02/10/contenders-announce-bids-for-2016-holyrood-elections/
Which describes its candidates that aren't female as:
Non-women:
Peter McColl, rector of Edinburgh University & target Green candidate for Westminster.
Andy Wightman, land reform campaigner.
Which has led to mockery:

Muddy Waters - "I'm just a Non-Womannish non-girl oh yeah" #greensongs
----
#greensongs Barry Non-womanilow singing Non-womandy
----
"Gotta Wash That Non-Woman Out Of My Hair - #greensongs

You get the idea....and the Greens have burst into non-womanly tears.

Pretty sad that some people find gender non-binary inclusive language a source of humour. #greensongs
Tw@t.
As the Greens have been caught doing all sorts of sleekit, backstabbing things recently, no-one greatly cares if they're having a hissy fit because people are laughing at them.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
The telly's dire, so I am watching the Labour leadership debate....it's a charisma-free zone. I can't remember a single thing the non-Corbyns have said, and the only reason he is memorable is that he is like some kind of strange time traveller from a 1970's students' union.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
OMG. Corbyn has just said something sensible - he wants to know where ISIS is getting the money from, which countries are buying their oil, etc.

Isn't he some out of date champagne commie?
Have just seen your last post and would agree that that is a really good question.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
He doesn't drink. Or smoke. Or eat meat. He seems to disapprove of anything that might be regarded as 'fun'.
I just cannot see his appeal, frankly, he's an unreconstructed socialist, and I suspect the only reason he is so far ahead is that he's the only contender that has anything resembling a noticeable personality. You know, I'm watching this, and keep having to check what the other three are called....

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
Yes, he does indeed, Lily, but seems to have NO idea how he's going to compensate the current owners. Unless he's just planning to sieze everything without compensation...
He won that hands down, but I suspect that is less because he is good, as because the other three have all the charisma of a soggy flannel. Also, younger people don't recall the sheer chaos his brand of socialism caused in the 1970's, and are deluding themselves that this time, it will finally work - unlike the previous hundreds of failed attempts to make socialism work, all over the world.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
My next question was how he was going to do it....
I think he is out of touch with spending other people's money too. Possibly up there with our guy.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
Well, the Labour party are in a panic at the thought of being dragged back to the '70's = unelectable. The last time Labour policies resembled Corbyn's, the result was Mrs Thatcher....
Why anyone would want to hand out bribes to meet one of the other contenders - I have absolutely NO idea.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
I have NO doubt they think it's somehow going to be different this time, and all those leftie policies which brought Britain to the brink of ruin last time are going to work this time....

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
Has everyone forgotten? We've already HAD Corbyn's kind of politics. Back in the 70's. And the chief beneficiary of that disaster was one M. Thatcher.
