Eleven Hungarians jailed for pimping in UK

A gang of eleven Hungarians has been sentenced by a London court for trafficking and sexually exploiting more than 250 women in the UK, the Fejér County chief prosecutor said. A joint investigation by the British authorities and Hungarian police revealed that the suspects recruited women in Hungary in 2013 and 2014 to work as prostitutes in rented apartments in the UK, mainly in London. Evidence shows that over 250 women worked as prostitutes in around 50 brothels organised by the suspects in London and Peterborough.

The Hungarian authority ordered an investigation in July 2013 for alleged pimping and a joint investigation team was set up with the British investigation authority soon after. The British court has now sentenced 11 Hungarian nationals in a non-final ruling for up to 14 years in prison.
