Gerry McCann always said it was never too late to do the right thing and to own up. He was right. All of my fellow journo's now need to man up for what we helped the McCann's do to this decent man. Sadly there is only today to show our remorse, but hopefully, if many of us donate on this last chance, we will be doing such a good thing, ensuring all of his fees are covered not just the appeal, but also having the safe knowledge anything we give will not be squandered on drinks and meals like the McCann's detectives did with public donations. We know any excess will truly go to children who need it. That in itself is a good enough reason for everyone to boost this fund now, knowing at least we may have caused a lot of harm, but we can do our penance by donating to real childrens charities at the same time. So come on boss and all the management, all of those people who got rich on this case while this man was homeless, do the right thing, donate to where it's most useful which is here.

PS - if anyone wishes to contact the Sun, and provide them with this evidence of Amaral-supporting hater trolls making fake donations in their name - just help yourselves!

These won't be the only fake donations - we've all seen the haters cloning people that wouldn't spit on Gonzo if he was on fire to make fake donations to the scrounge fund.

Maybe the Sun should investigate further?

How's that 'armour' coming?

Any fool would know that the Sun would NOT make a 5 GBP donation and that is before the rest of it was proved to be fraudulent.

Any real donation from them would be much bigger.

I do so hope that the Sun delves deeper about this.   It would be a good story for them.

Especially as many of the trolls believed and boasted that it was proof that The Sun had now 'turned on' the McCanns, ie they and many others believed it was real, especially, as she wrote 'all of my fellow journos'.

Can I just please clarify a few things to do with the fund for Goncalo Amaral please
The go fund me page only is closing NOT the PJGA official fund
Please note people are welcomed and encouraged to donated to this fund still as funds are still needed and any excess will go to the children's charities once all legal fees are paid
I've received this information direct from Portugal today from those involved in the fund
And there will be a press release soon confirming this

Look, just stop this. You can't claim that yet more money is 'very much needed' when the main Scrounge site clearly says:


The Paypal account that is associated to the bank account has received over 6 thousand euro during the same period. Donations totaling a smaller amount have also been made directly to the bank account.

We believe that it is time to close the gofundme page, as the bank account currently stands at an amount that seems largely sufficient to face eventual future expenses.

Would not be surprised about that.  

Everything about the Gonzo Scrounge Funds is, IMO, dodgy - from the 'donations' made in fake names to the total lack of transparency about who is actually running them, and where the money is going.

PS - and this rumour, which has NOT been denied, about Mrs Gonzo being a member of Hoho's hate group isn't helping matters.
