LIVE: MPs Prepare To Vote On Syria Airstrikes
The Sky News team brings you the latest as MPs debate whether the UK should join airstrikes against IS in Syria.
PM Stresses He Has 'Wider Strategy'
David Cameron stressing that the Syria debate is about the "wider strategy" for the country and not just military action.
He needs to win over MPs who have not yet been convinced to back strikes because they feel the PM has not made the case for any political solution that will follow the bombing....etc.
Utter madness. The UK has NO legal mandate to bomb anyone - stay out of the way and let those who are operating within international law get on with it. Which is Russia, Iran, etc., who have been asked to help by the LEGAL Syrian government.
Also, as long as Obama is in the White House and Erdrogan is in his Turkish palace, there is every chance of treachery by our supposed 'allies', and RAF crew suffering the same fate as the Russian pilot murdered by Washington's pet terrorists.

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
http://news.sky.com/story/1598451/pm-refuses-terrorist-sympathisers-apology
The Prime Minister has repeatedly refused to apologise for branding opponents of airstrikes in Syria "terrorist sympathisers".
As he sets out his case for bombing Islamic State targets in Syria in the Commons, David Cameron has repeatedly been asked by opposition MPs to say sorry for the jibe.
Parliament is debating joining the military campaign in the 10-hour Commons session.
Ahead of the vote, the Prime Minister told Conservative MPs not to side with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and "terrorist sympathisers" by opposing airstrikes.
Arrogant fool.

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
"The question is this - do we work with our allies to degrade and destroy this threat and do we go after these terrorists in their heartlands from where they are plotting to kill British people, or do we sit back and wait for them?"
"The question before the House today is how we keep the British people safe from the threat posed by ISIL (IS)," he told MPs.
Not letting them into the UK, or allowing them to wander freely around Europe in the first place would probably have been a good idea.

Sky News ✔ @SkyNews
PM- Vienna talks aim for a transitional government in Syria within six months and a new constitution in 18 months
Planning on repeating his triumph in Libya, is he? It is NONE of the UK's business who the legal government of a sovereign nation is. Arrogant fool doesn't seem to think the Syrian people should have any say in the matter.
And there are only two choices.
Assad or ISIS.

UK Prime Minister ✔ @Number10gov
PM: It is in Syria where many of the plots against our country are formed. So we must act in Syria to deal with these threats ourselves.
What, not Luton or Bradford? Drummer Lee Rigby's killers were both 'paper' British. I don't really think bombing Syria would have helped much there....

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
PM: Strikes Will Not Increase Terrorist Threat
PM says he does not believe that UK strikes will increase terrorist threat.
He says already 800 Britons have travelled to Syria to be radicalised by Daesh and participate in attacks against UK.
So, cancel their passports and don't let them back into the UK...or would that be raycist?

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
PM We Will Now Use Daesh Rather Than ISIL
David Cameron says the terminology should be change and UK should join France in calling the "death cult" Daesh rather than ISIL "as frequently as possible" because the terrorists have nothing to do with Islam.
Useful Idiot and appeaser. As ISIS have proclaimed themselves an Islamic state, use the Koran as a training manual, and as inspiration for their atrocities, and are headed by an islamic scholar, they have EVERYTHING to do with islam.

http://news.sky.com/story/1598353/four-arrested-in-luton-terrorism-raids
Four men have been arrested in Luton on suspicion of committing terrorism offences, say police.
The men are suspected of being involved in the "commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism", said Scotland Yard.
"Searches are being conducted at seven separate addresses in Luton in connection with this investigation.
"A number of vehicles are also being searched."
Police say the arrests are not connected to last month's terrorist attacks in Paris.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command and the Eastern Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Unit were involved in the raids.
The four men - all aged in their 30s - remain in custody at a London police station.

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
Corbyn says something sensible, for once:
http://www.theguardian.com/politics/blog/live/2015/dec/02/syria-airstrikes-mps-debate-vote-cameron-action-against-isis-live
Last week, the prime minister suggested that Kurdish militias or the Free Syrian Army would be able to fill the gap. He even claimed a 70,000-strong force of moderate FSA fighters was ready to coordinate action against Isil with the western air campaign.
That claim has not remotely stood up to scrutiny. Kurdish forces will be of little assistance in the Sunni Arab areas Isil controls. Nor will the FSA, which includes a wide range of groups few would regard as moderate - and mostly operates in other parts of the country.
The only ground forces able to take advantage of a successful anti-Isil air campaign are much stronger jihadist and Salafist groups close to Isil-controlled areas.
Remember at all times that it was a so-called 'Free Syrian Army' fighter that was videoed opening the chest cavity of a dead soldier in the legal Syrian army, and eating his internal organs.
The so-called 'FSA' has also committed many atrocities involving decapitation, etc., and Christian Syrians have often been their victims.

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
Clearly not, Lily. Now, I don't give a flying one what happens to terrorists - Russia can napalm them for all I care - but it strikes me as utter insanity for the UK to be shoving its nose, unasked, into this mess. Illegally at that.
If Cameron wants to make Britain safer, then he should ignore the wails from the Yuman Rites lot and start deporting ANYONE that shows the slightest sign of sympathising with islamic terrorists, 'paper' British or not. Oh, and don't let a single one into the country ever again. He can spend the money saved on securing our borders, which actually shouldn't be all that hard, what with us being an island.
It's only two years since Cameron wanted to bomb Assad, FFS - which would have let ISIS swarm all over Syria, and turn the country into a charnel house.

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
Hague said it might be necessary to break up Syria and Iraq.
We should be open to new solutions. In the end, if communities and leaders cannot live peacefully together in Syria and Iraq then we will have to try them living peacefully but separately in the partition of those countries, regretfully though I say that.
Hague clearly doesn't think he's caused enough bloodshed, he now thinks he's entitled to pronounce on the division of other countries.
Do none of these people understand the words 'sovereign state'?

I am sick and tired of this Religion of Peace, Nothing To Do With Islam, nonsense, Lily. I don't even know where it came from - islam has been aggressive for 1,300 years and counting.
After all, there's no such thing as 'Hinduphobia' or 'Buddhistphobia', is there? IMO, the problem is islam and its unpleasant teachings.

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
http://news.sky.com/story/1598548/is-or-daesh-its-a-pointless-name-game
The PM said that he had complained to the BBC that the broadcaster has referred to "the Islamic State" and that this was worse even than "so-called Islamic State" (the term Sky News uses). We should rather refer to the so-called Islamic State as Da’esh, the PM said.
The terror group doesn't like the term, apparently.
Which is odd because it's the Arabic acronym of "ad-Dawlah al-Islamiyah fī 'l-ʿIraq wa-sh-Sham" (which should therefore be Da’ish?)
It means the Islamic State in Iraq and Shams (greater Syria). In other letters, ISIS or ISIL if you translate Shams as "the Levant".

Re: MPs prepare to vote on Syria airstrikes
http://news.sky.com/story/1599616/syrians-in-uk-divided-over-bombing-of-is
In the Syrian shops and restaurants of Shepherds Bush, west London, there are plenty of people who have fled the conflict - but all have different ideas about how to resolve it.
Wessam Azath was so desperate to leave Syria he paid for a fake passport to get to Britain and claim asylum.
He's now working in a Syrian supermarket and trying to rebuild his life.
You might expect he would be clamouring for the bombing of Islamic State, but he doesn't want the country he now calls home to join in airstrikes on his country of birth.
He believes bombing IS will make an already complex conflict even more complicated to resolve.
"It's our war, it's a Syrian war," he tells me. "It's not for anyone to take a part in this war so I don't agree with Britain to share in this war."...etc.
Then I suggest he naffs off back to Syria and fights for his country, instead of lecturing us while he hides here in safety.
And takes his fake passport with him.

Why, I do believe it was Blair.
