Officers said the men were returning from a Second World War re-enactment event in nearby Saddleworth.

The event, titled “Yanks are back in Saddleworth”, had strict instructions for any German re-enacters not to wear black SS uniforms with red arm bands.

But SS uniforms were permitted as long as the insignia was not on show.

Those aren't SS uniforms, you moonbat cretins. They must think people in war movies are all 'SS Nazis'.

And I can't imagine any of the veterans I know being in the least bit offended by the sight of a couple of blokes in old uniforms, unlike the special snowflakes.

I thought everyone knew Wermacht uniforms were grey, 'nazi' ie SS uniforms were black. Simples. Oh, if they are genuine WW2 officers, they are well preserved - who do I contact to get the secret formula? I iz getting old .... LL

People have been so dumbed down, it's terrifying, LL. Anyone 'outraged' by that knows absolutely NOTHING.

Why would veterans be 'offended' by it? They took the p*ss out of the real thing, so I doubt if they're going to faint at the sight of a couple of re-enactors - and a very well restored car.

And the fact that the police joked about them 'invading' is actually quite funny.

Personally, I would have thought the only people likely to object to nazis being depicted as incompetent buffoons would be other nazis, but hey ho!

I don't see any reason to remake the series, which I enjoyed by the way! Remakes of TV programs/films are, IMO, very rarely as good as the original!! LL

I don't think remakes ever work, either, LL. I read somewhere or other that the BBC is remaking Till Death Us Do Part. I shudder to think what they will do to that.....

I really object to having to pay TV tax to pay for this rubbish. I would stop paying my licence, but unfortunately, the Sky dish on the outside wall is a bit of a giveaway...

The BBC would be broke in six months if they competed in the market, like everyone else.

I absolutely doubled over laughing at Til Death Us Do Part. It was one of the funniest comedy series I ever saw. Warren Mitchell and Dandy Nichols played their parts brilliantly.

I found the American version silly to be honest as I find many American comedy series. It is something the Brits beat them by, hands down.

Bet you never thought the Scouse Git would end up being the PM's father in law.....
