@LittlemoreJB @HellyChic Man charged with kidnapping, spit of man seen heading for beach, writes bk saying M #mccann dumped in sea.
Yes, I think that about sums it up.
I must say, we owe a vote of thanks to the Gonzo-worshippers for trying to deny that Cristovao has ever had anything to do with their idol, despite him being one of his closest associates for years.
Cristovao even gets invited to Gonzo's birthday parties!

Portimão: Leonor Cipriano's lawyer interrupted the birthday party of Gonçalo Amaral
By Paulo Marcelino
05 October 2009 - 00h30
Thanks to Joana Morais for translation
Marcos Aragão Correia, the lawyer who represented Leonor Cipriano in the process in which Gonçalo Amaral was condemned – to a suspended sentence of one year and three months in prison over false deposition - interrupted the former Polícia Judiciária coordinator's birthday party, at around midnight yesterday, in the company of a PSP patrol, in order to identify the authors of an alleged aggression attempt that would have taken place only minutes earlier, at the restaurant's door.
Marcos Aragão Correia at that time made an obscene gesture to the guests, who were on the street to make a toast after the fireworks. The lawyer was sitting in a car, with two other occupants, parked in front of the restaurant where the party took place, in Portimão's riverfront area. A witness – who was identified by the PSP – admitted to having threatened the lawyer after seeing him make the obscene gesture. After the threat, the lawyer, who was driving the vehicle, took off in a hurry with the tyres screeching, and returned, minutes later, accompanied by a PSP patrol.
When Gonçalo Amaral and Paulo Pereira Cristóvão (co-accused acquitted in the case of Leonor Cipriano) approached the PSP agents in the middle of the street, Aragão Correia fled running. The CM attempted to contact him yesterday, but he had his mobile phone disconnected.
DETAILS
NEW BOOK
'The English Gag' is the title of the new book - under review - from Gonçalo Amaral. "It's an essay on censorship and freedom of expression", written in ten days after the ban of 'Maddie - The Truth of the Lie'.
GOLDEN EARRING
Last Friday, the day he turned 50, the former police pierced his left ear. "It was a request from my wife," he justified.
FIGURES ON THE PARTY
Paulo Pereira Cristóvão and the lawyer João Grade had dinner. The mayor of Portimão and his deputy attended the toast on the street.
=========
A few things of interest here.
Mccannfiles seems to have omitted to report that CartofMuck later had to apologise to Marcos Correia, over this erroneous version of events.
And it must have been nice and cosy, Leonor Cipriano's lawyer at the time she was attacked by the police having celebration drinkies with two of the men accused of attacking her. Lots to talk about, no doubt.
PS - the Mayor of Portimao is now in deep sh*t himself, facing charges of multi-million euros worth of fraud, via the Algarve Tourist Board and other dodgy local organisations.
I wonder if that is the same deputy mayor as the one that tried to eat the evidence against him?
Lovely people the Gonzo Squad! Quite the cream of Algarve society!

I think we owe all the Gonzo-worshippers a vote of thanks today.
For providing such fine, comic entertainment as they perform somersaults and try to stand readity on its head, pretending that Cristovao isn't one of Gonzo's best buddies.
Take that first step to freedom, Goncalettes! Admit you've been worshipping a very false god indeed, and that Team Gonzo is riddled through with perjurers, liars, torturers, con-men and thugs! You know you want to!

Re: SUN, STAR: 'Cristovao goes on trial' - organised home invasions, etc
How funny! The Gonzo-worshippers are still trying to pretend that Cristovao the Thug has nothing to do with Gonzo the Perjurer.
Interesting, however, to see that many people are asking pertinent questions about these two, and the rest of the Algarve Mafia.
Many are commenting on the striking resemblance between Cristovao and Smithman. And it's also a helluva coincidence that Madeleine McCann disappeared just when Cristovao and Gonzo were being arguido-ed over their conduct in another missing child case.
Those two certainly benefited from Madeleine's disappearance - and not just via their crappy, lying books and media appearances.
After all, Madeleine's abduction knocked reports about them off the front page of Portuguese newspapers. And Gonzo would have looked like a hero, all his sins forgiven, if he'd 'proved' the McCanns DONE IT.
All his woes would have been over!
Something to think about - as an increasing number of people appear to be. Who knows, maybe the prospect of a long jail sentence will encourage Cristovao to cut a deal?

Never mind, always good to see these hypotheses being freely expressed.

Is the Portuguese police implicated in the abduction of Madeleine Mc Cann?
Did the Portuguese police kidnapped Madeleine Mc Cann?
The Spanish media Internet source JM Noticias (JM News) whose address is www.jmnoticias.com published on February 8, 2008 an article in Spanish entitled: ¿Secuestro un policia a Madeleine Mc Cann? Translation: Did a policeman kidnapped Madeleine Mc Cann?
According to the article, while the media have been publishing speculations on Madeleine's case, the author of a blog had predicted that the Portuguese police would declare Gerry and Kate Mc Cann "arguidos" (suspects) as a tactic to conceal the implication of police officers in the abduction and disappearance of Madeleine on May 3, 2007....more at link.
A very interesting hypothesis, and freely expressed.

Re: SUN, STAR: 'Cristovao goes on trial' - organised home invasions, etc
Bad elements in the PJ did benefit from her disappearance, after all. Looking at all this, it is easy to see why, outside of the Team Gonzo inner circle, there is so little support for Amoral in Portugal.
He had to scrounge money off stupid Brits, let's not forget....
It's always interesting to see the comments in the Portuguese media when one of these dirty cops is finally brought to justice - the good people of Portugal are just as sickened by their dirty cops as we are by ours.
And it's a good while since anyone fell down the police station stairs in the UK.
Some very interesting hypotheses are starting to appear.

Re: SUN, STAR: 'Cristovao goes on trial' - organised home invasions, etc
Hounder:
Is it true that Paulo Cristovao left the PJ before Madeleine's disappearance? I have to say if there is any truth to these organised robbery and protection racket claims it puts the PJ in a new light. I'd never before questioned their professionalism. I'm hoping this is complete nonsense from the Star.
Look, dear, if you ever bothered to read anything more than hate sites, you would know that this, and other corruption scandals in Portugal, has been all over the Portuguese media for MONTHS.
Far from being 'complete nonsense', the Star has actually toned down some of the more ghastly details.
Wake up, silly people! You've been lied to all along the line! If you want to find 'cover ups' - then start looking on the Algarve!

about "there's a Hypothesis worth investigating. "Were The PJ involved in Madeleine's disappearance?"", this is no surprise to me (always had this suspicion about amaral), due to the fact of what has been discovered about the ******* pereira cristóvão, and we all know that ******* amaral benefit with the abduction of Madeleine.

National traffic history is suspected of corrupt leaders of the PJ
Ricardo Macedo, who was arrested, is coordinator PJ
Detained two inspectors and a cable GNR suspected of receiving traffickers gloves. Franclim Wolf is one of the targets
The paths of Holy Days and Franclim Wolf******* crossed several times in the years 1990 and 2000. The first was a "star" of the Judicial Police (PJ) in the fight against drug trafficking. The other was considered one of Portugal's biggest drug traffickers, have been repeatedly investigated and convicted of that crime. Now they are both, together with the inspector Ricardo Macedo, in the same situation: they are suspected of passive and active corruption. Yesterday the PJ inspectors arrested the two - day Saints is already retired - a cable of GNR and 12 more people. According to information gathered by DN Franclim Wolf is one of the "targets" of the investigation, may soon be arrested.
Operation Achilles, as PJ called it, was triggered in the early hours of yesterday morning. Almost 200 inspectors have been mobilized to the ground, making 120 searches and making arrests 15 people. Day Saints was one of them, as well as Ricardo Macedo, who was arrested by colleagues of the National Unit against Corruption when it came to PJ's facilities. Both are suspected for years, having received money from drug traffickers to pass information or even to halt investigations. Franclim Wolf is one of those that would count with the collaboration of the two "moles" of the National Combat Drug Trafficking Unit. Yesterday, contacted by DN, Victor Carreto Ribeiro, a lawyer who represents in many cases, he said he was unaware of their whereabouts. The DN know, however, that Franclim Wolf may already be located in Spain.
And the DN found, the payments would be made in cash, probably through intermediaries, which hampered the investigation in this case, since there were no bank movements disclosing an abnormal circulation of money.
House in Cascais
It was a recent real estate business done by Dias Santos, in Cascais, which turned out to research the track was missing: the money trail. And the DN found, the former coordinator of the Judiciary will have bought a house whose value is well above their income. Carlos Dias Santos is a historic PJ who was until 2011 the police, a total of 34 years of service. In 2008 was one of the principal investigators of the Directorate Central Narcotics Trafficking Investigation. Between 2003 and 2008, seized 37 tons of hashish, nearly nine tons of cocaine, 221 kilograms of heroin and about 12 million from drug trafficking. In November 2008, he was removed from UNCTE by the National Directorate PJ due to an internal complaint.
Ricardo Macedo also made his inspector career in combating drug trafficking, having worked, by the way, side by side with day Saints (classmate of the current national director of the PJ, Almeida Rodrigues). This was to leave the UNCTE, his superior in the same brigade. As day Saints, we have received thousands of euros traffickers. The investigation began after a complaint arrival to the Central Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DCIAP). The same revealed the alleged disappearance of a shipment of hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from a container unloaded in the port of Sines in the summer of 2013. At the same time it was seized in the port of Lisbon a load of 811 kilograms of cocaine. But the same suspects have disappeared 500 kilos of the same drug, which were later seized in Greece in circumstances unclear.
Yesterday, the Deputy National Director of Judicial went to UNCTE "give a reliable word," according to a source, the inspectors, who a few years ago were also faced with the case of inspector Ana Paula Matos, convicted of embezzling money seized in the investigations.
The 15 people arrested will be present today, a judge of the Criminal Court Central, be it Charles Alexander as Ivo Rosa. Prosecutors in this research Vítor Magalhães and João Melo, the DCIAP. Day Saints has the lawyer Melo Alves, who for years defended drug suspects arrested by the customer now.

Two days ago:
http://www.dn.pt/sociedade/interior/conversa-a-mesa-do-cafe-leva-suspeito-a-denunciar-inspetor-da-pj-5207347.html
Conversation at the breakfast table leads suspect to report PJ inspector
Conversation in a pastry confirmed link Ricardo Macedo to drug traffickers. PJ watched Franclim Wolf
Sitting at the table in pastry Restelo in Lisbon, Carlos and Gregory Bruno (his real name) trying to understand what happened to a drug shipment that disappeared. Gregory unaware, however, that the conversation is being monitored remotely by members of the National Unit against Corruption (UNCC), which investigated in recent years the ex - colleague-day Saints and the inspector Ricardo Macedo, related to combating trafficking in drug - both were arrested two months ago on suspicion of corruption and money laundering. It was on the latter that the conversation was more productive because Gregory would eventually confirm the connection Macedo trafficking.
Bruno is a former Inspector of Judicial Police, after some contacts with people linked to drug trafficking, was involved as a suspect in the disappearance of several kilos of "product." Discouraged by network elements in Portugal, and threatened by Colombian individuals - who have extended the threats to his sister, a judge - Bruno ended up knocking on PJ door, telling all he knew about the link police to drug trafficking. Checked the consistency of the complaint, the former inspector was eventually placed in a witness protection program, was heard in "statements for future memory." Before that, however, Bruno worked as research infiltrated the process of corruption in the Judiciary Police, dubbed Operation Achilles.
In this pastry, Carlos Gregorio, one of the case of suspects, began to show some trust with the inspector Ricardo Macedo, saying that according to that police operations "gauge" were only carried out on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Gregory also commented Bruno that "everything was going well", that "the staff was asking for information and was paying," that if a container was to get someone ask if "everything was fine" and that the answer was "yes, it was okay. " During the conversation, Bruno asked if the caller was referring to Ricardo. Carlos Gregory confirmed, saying the "key" passed the link "Ricardo" to a "Chubby", the research considers to be Pedro Salgado, suspected to bridge the gap between the elements of drug trafficking and the inspector Ricardo Macedo.
But Charles Gregory was still heard in 2014, to speak to-day Saints, who was nearby, on a discovery he had made himself the in your car: a GPS locator. Former inspector came into contact with the head of the surveillance unit PJ. João Carreira assured him that the device was not "his" and he would collect it. Day Saints would eventually comment Carlos Gregory not be very convinced and that the police should even put those devices in other people, "not us."
Suspicions about the links of Charles Gregory the world of trafficking It is cemented when the accused already in Operation Achilles was heard to ask an interlocutor if needed "olive oil". But he said: "pallet", that is, as noted prosecutors, a term that is not suitable for oil trade, but that is used in drug trafficking.
In the midst of so many players, the Achilles operation would also to cross with Franclim Wolf, one of the largest domestic drug traffickers. This was followed several times in Lisbon, in personal contacts, especially with Vítor Caeiro, that research be their operating in Portugal since Lobo lived for some time in Spain. Caeiro was also heard talking to Carlos Gregory, in 2015, on the arrest of an organization element, saying it was "hospitalized with a serious illness." Gregory asked if it would not be "contagious" with this meaning it could not be more arrests.
It is then that a triangle is formed between Franclim Wolf, Victor Caeiro Masses, in which each represented a role in the entry of a large amount of cocaine in Portugal. However, since their steps were being monitored in detail, the drug eventually be found by Judicial.

Discouraged by network elements in Portugal, and threatened by Colombian individuals - who have extended the threats to his sister, a judge - Bruno ended up knocking on PJ door, telling all he knew about the link police to drug trafficking.

The scale of it is horrifying, Sabot, and I don't envy the PJ their job, trying to clean out these rats - they even threatened a judge, it would seem.

Notice the ringleaders all seem to be from a certain generation?
IMO, there are few things worse, anywhere in the world, than dirty cops - they undermine everything that is normally understood by 'justice'. Unfortunately for Portugal, it seems to have been going on there on an industrial scale - the comments on these stories from ordinary Portuguese folk are very revealing.
Again, Bennett's always nosing out failures in the UK police - but the hounders appear to be in complete ignorance (or denial) about what has been going on in Portugal. Just look at those idiots that have tried to pretend that the Sun and Star made up the stories about Cristovao!
Actually, I don't think any of them could handle the truth.....

Suspicions that led to the arrest coordinator and chief inspector of the PJ have more than eight years
SOCIETY 04.05.2016 at 17:40
Carlos Dias Santos and Ricardo Macedo, held on Tuesday, 5, were targeted by colleagues of the Judiciary, for alleged collusion with drug traffickers since 2007
When in July 2007 Ana Paula Matos was arrested by colleagues PJ, opened within the Judiciary, a shocking Pandora's box. Ana Paula Matos was a major coordinator in the then DCITE (Central Directorate of Investigation of Drug Trafficking) and colleagues combating corruption scrutinized the suspect fell on it came with relative ease confirmation of the crime he had committed. Desperate with hefty personal debt it owed to the inspector-coordinator time appropriated € 94,000 that had been seized over four searches in drug trafficking investigations between 2005 and 2006. He was placed in custody and 2009 sentenced to seven and a half years in jail. But the shadow of suspicion settled since then on DCITE today UNCTE (National Unity to Combat Drug Trafficking), about to be the subject of two investigations. To consummate is Tuesday, 5, detention coordinator Carlos Dias Santos, retired about four years of chief inspector in the active Ricardo Macedo, and 13 more people.
This time, the colleagues of the National Anti-Corruption Unit (UNCC) in an operation designated to Achilles , have gathered enough strong evidence that Dias Santos and Ricardo Macedo, influential elements in UNCTE allegedly received bribes of thousands of euros and other kind of financial advantage to block investigations, turn a blind eye to suspected cases of drug trafficking and to pass information to whom the remunerated. Tuesday, operation Achilles , made a survey in charge of the Central Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DCIAP) mobilized nearly two hundred and fifty inspectors of the PJ, and education of judges and prosecutors, have been made about 120 searches in Lisbon and Porto.
'FRIENDSHIP PAINS'
The investigation of the UNCC on UNCTE will continue, given the volume of documents collected in the searches made. It happened, by the way, after the arrest of former coordinator Ana Paula Matos. The then director of the PJ, Alipio Ribeiro, asked the Minister of Justice at the time Alberto Costa, the guardianship made an inquiry to DCITE. The investigations ended without consequences. Two years later, in 2009, the prosecution would be flooded with complaints, even seized cocaine sales, which put 35 inspectors DCITE under suspicion, from top to bottom. Again without consequences. But it was learned that the coordinator-day Saints was the subject of an internal complaint, sent to the national director of the PJ, Almeida Rodrigues. However, come unscathed reform in 2011, after 34 years of service in the Judiciary.
In Operation Achilles are concerned suspected of active and passive corruption to tort, criminal association, drug trafficking and money laundering. The 15 detainees, aged between 39 and 61, will now be submitted to the first judicial questioning for application of enforcement measures. This is the cold information, which contrasts with the emotions of a source that was linked to the investigation and that the VISION contacted: "There is here friendship pain, disbelief by gravity ...," he stammered.
