As it was apparently a party for 'teens', it's probably just some of the local gangstas fighting over a drugs deal, or being 'dissed' or something similarly meaningless, LL.

Much the same as the current wave of shootings and stabbing in London.

It certainly wasn't, LL.  However, as far as the US goes, if gangsta on gangsta violence is stripped out, the US is little more dangerous than Europe.

Scotland Yard officers are on alert over possible gang clashes at public events in London next month.

Officers have reportedly been told that gangs plan to hijack a march on August 6 to commemorate the death of Mark Duggan, whose shooting by police five years ago sparked widespread civil unrest.

There are further fears gang violence could mar the Notting Hill Carnival over the August bank holiday weekend.

Notting Hill Carnival is to be held as tensions escalate between local groups. Eleven people were arrested in Ladbroke Grove in the early hours of Friday morning after a disturbance at which several weapons were seized.

The warnings come after a series of violent incidents rocked the capital last week where five police officers were injured as trouble flared at unlicensed gatherings in Hyde Park, Stamford Hill and Burgess Park...etc.

It was indeed a gangsta thing as far as I know.

It is not guns that are the problem but it is who uses them. If they did not have guns they would use something far worse.
It would not stop the criminal activity at all.

Five people were detained by police, but it's unclear if any were believed to be a shooter. Neither the shooter's identity nor motivation was clear. Authorities are not sure if one shooter or multiple shooters were involved. The attack apparently occurred at a teen event billed as a "Swimsuit Glow Party" at Club Blu in Fort Myers, local media reported.

The shooting is "definitely not terrorism," police told Fox News' Heather Nauert. The incident appears to have been gang-related, a law enforcement official told Fox News' Matt Dean.
"We are deeply sorry for all involved," Club Blu posted on Facebook on Monday morning. "We tried to give the teens WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A SAFE PLACE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. Ages 12-17. There was armed security as well as full security, inside and out."
