I find him utterly repulsive.

I had Fox on, Lily, so saw his morning speech live. I was absolutely appalled - he is unfit for any kind of office, IMO. After that display, I would guess he can kiss his political career goodbye?

I sincerely hope so, Bonny. However, he does appear to love himself too much.

Is tonight's speech by Trump the close of the GOP convention, Lily?

Sorry but I had to look up today's date as it ends on the 21st.

It seems to have been remarkably trouble-free so far? A bit of shouting and pushing, but nothing major - long may it continue?

Well, if I was hell-bent on causing civil disorder, I wouldn't try it at the GOP convention, especially as so many Trump supporters may be availing themselves of the local firearms laws.

No, I'd save it for the Dems, and the ragtag band of agitators that have been ASKED to speak at it, never mind what happens outside.

If I wanted to cause civil disorder.....

Here's a thing, Lily. I've seen the same 'pundits' declaring that the GOP convention was a 'shambles', party tearing itself apart, etc.

Now, I didn't watch all of it - perish the thought - but I saw something totally different.

I saw a well-run, well-organised gathering, with some excellent speakers, enlivened by 'protesters' setting themselves on fire accidentally and having to be extinguished by the police. But no riots, no nothing.

I can only think the 'pundits' were impressed by Cruz's dummy-spitting tantrum?

Bonny, like you I only saw parts but what I saw was night and day to how some were speaking of it on TV. I guess they were not given any enticements.

There are three key findings to emerge from yesterday's dump of leaked DNC emails released by Wikileaks:

There had been a plot designed to smear Bernie Sanders and to hand the Democratic nomination to Hillary on a silver platter
There has been repeated collusion between the DNC and the media
There has been questionable fundraising for both Hillary Clinton and the DNC

I won't pretend to understand much of this, but it seems a political grenade has been thrown into the Dem convention.


Wasserman Schultz seemed to have already counted Sanders out of the race in a May 21 email, when there were still nine primaries to go. “This is a silly story,” the chairwoman said. “He isn't going to be president.

She seems to be in considerable hot water, of which more later...

“All the stories” refer to, in part, a 2011 Daily Beast investigation called “Behind Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s Sweetheart Deal” which was cited in a follow-up story in the New York Daily News, and other articles that are later embedded into the email thread. To close off the chain, White House political advisor Bobby Schmuck responded that he agreed with DNC compliance director Alan Reed. “No hosting, fine to attend,” he wrote.

President Obama attended a Miami fundraiser at the home of Robert Rubenstein, one of the five other names listed in the vetting email, on the weekend of June 3rd, and Black was allowed to attend.

Black’s client Epstein was convicted of soliciting sex from an underage girl in 2008 and paid out settlements to “scores of alleged victims who said he serially molested them." President Bill Clinton was said to have flown on Epstein’s private jet, dubbed the “Lolita Express,” up to 26 times, sometimes eschewing Secret Service protection.

Now that's the sort of scandal I understand!


Another email shows DNC staffers’ fake craigslist job posting made for women who wish to apply to jobs at one of Trump’s organizations. The fake position, titled a Honey Bunny, requires the prospective applicant to, among other tasks, refrain from gaining weight, be open to public humiliation and be alright with groping or kissing by her boss

DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz should resign now, Sen. Bernie Sanders said Sunday in the wake of email leaks that showed the DNC and Wasserman Schultz working against the Sanders campaign despite vows to remain neutral in the Democratic primary.
“I think she should resign, period,” Sanders said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday. “And I think we need a new chair who is going to lead us in a very different direction.”

Sanders said he was “not shocked” by what came out of the email leak of internal DNC correspondence obtained and posted by WikiLeaks on Friday. “I’m disappointed, and that’s the way it is,” he said.
In the fallout of the email leak, Wasserman Schultz will no longer speak at the Democratic National Convention that begins on Monday, CNN reported.
On CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sanders was asked to respond to emails from DNC officials questioning his religion. “It is an outrage, and it’s sad that you would have people in important positions in the DNC trying to undermine my campaign,” Sanders said.

I confess to finding Wasserman Schultz rather entertaining, Lily. She seems to think she's the epitome of the glamourous, sexy, female politician, but clearly doesn't have mirrors in her house....

And she should never, ever get angry.

Maybe she does not have a reflection?

US election: Democrats' chair steps aside amid email row

The US Democratic Party chair says she will resign as a row over leaked emails threatens efforts for party unity ahead of the presidential nominating convention.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz's move follows a leak of emails appearing to suggest that party insiders tried to thwart the campaign by Hillary Clinton's rival.
Bernie Sanders had pressed for the party chairwoman to step down.
Mrs Clinton is to be officially nominated at the Philadelphia meeting.


The Vermont senator had said Ms Wasserman Schultz "should not be chair" of the Democratic National Committee.
"And I think these emails reiterate that reason why she should not be chair," he told ABC's This Week programme....etc.

Thanks, Lily, I'll watch it tomorrow when I am a bit mentally fresher. The sums of money that have passed through the Clintons' fingers is staggering, I know.

It absolutely stunned me as to the extent of it! Is this what most of them do - on both sides of the pond? It's shocking really.

I don't think they are all actually as bad as this, Lily. The Clintons are in a class of their own - it's as if the most corrupt, horrible dictators you could imagine managed to take their corruption onto a world stage, instead of confining it to their own unfortunate country.

I genuinely do not know how ANYONE could vote for Hillary; her record of corruption, and the trail of death she leaves behind her, speaks for itself.

Leaked Emails Confirm DNC Officials Planned Anti-Trump Protests



In multiple emails, DNC officials signed off and acknowledged the existence of two anti-Donald Trump protests in South Bend, IN and Billings, MT. The release of nearly 20,000 emails is the first in a WikiLeaks “Hillary Leaks” series.

On April 29, a DNC press staffer, Rachel Palermo, alerted Eric Walker, deputy communications director, about a Facebook page for an anti-Trump protest on May 2 in South Bend. “Whoo! Thanks to our interns for finding this out.” Walker replies, “I like it, as long as the students feel safe getting involved. I imagine this demo will be nicer than the one in San Fran today.”

That day in San Francisco protesters blocked off roads to an event Donald Trump was hosting. The Republican nominee ended up having to jump down from the highway and sneak around back to enter.

In another other email chain also on April 29, titled “Week-Ahead Notes & Assignments,” former DNC media booker Pablo Manriquez comments “this should be fun” in reference to the May protest.

University of Notre Dame, located in South Bend, is Manriquez’s alma mater. A DNC official wrote, “Pablo please reach out to any folks you think may be able to help.”....etc.

Sanders needs to grow a pair and challenge her for the nomination, in light of the information that is now coming out.
