MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke has requested the mobilization of the National Guard in the wake of violence that erupted in the City of Milwaukee late Saturday, August 13th and early Sunday, August 14th.

Clarke made the request after consulting with Gov. Scott Walker and Major Gen. Donald Dunbar of the Wisconsin National Guard.

Clarke said the following in a statement as part of a news release:

“We cannot allow for a repeat of what happened (Saturday) night. I am going to utilize all available resources to accomplish that.”

On Saturday night, violence erupted in the wake of an officer-involved shooting that happened near 44th and Auer on Saturday afternoon.

Protesters burned several stores, including the BP gas station at Sherman and Burleigh, Jet Beauty at 35th and Fond du Lac, BMO Harris Bank at 36th and Fond du Lac, O’Reilly Auto Parts at Fond du Lac and Burleigh and MJM Liquor at Fond du Lac and North — and threw rocks at police on the city’s north side, leaving one officer injured and three protesters arrested. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said protesters had been using social media to draw more demonstrators.



It's a ray of light in this latest madness that they're rioting on Sheriff Clarke's patch - he won't tolerate this, and won't be cowed by Washington or the BLM crew.

Madison - Governor Scott Walker released the following statement today after the events of last evening and early this morning in the City of Milwaukee:

Following a request from Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, and after discussions with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Adjutant General Donald Dunbar, I have activated the Wisconsin National Guard to be in a position to aid local law enforcement upon request.

I commend the citizens who volunteered in clean-up efforts this morning. This act of selfless caring sets a powerful example for Milwaukee's youth and the entire community. I join Milwaukee's leaders and citizens in calling for continued peace and prayer.

It is also important for citizens to know that Wisconsin is the first state in the nation to have a law requiring an independent investigation anytime there is a shooting by a law enforcement officer that leads to a death. I will not comment on the specifics of the case as it is now under this investigation. I do, however, hope people will give law enforcement the respect that they deserve for working so hard to keep us safe.

The rioters would do well to remember how 1968 ended, and who was elected.....

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Soviets and Chinese were horrified by the whole business - his resignation, that is, because they thought that any good leader simply HAD to spy on the opposition.....

BREAKING: Milwaukee mayor says photo shows 'without question' that a man shot by police had a gun in his hand.

Anyone who robs a liquor store, steals a car, then points a gun at the police, really shouldn't be surprised if they end up dead. Anywhere in the world, the police are likely to shoot.

Between Friday evening and Monday morning, 52 people were shot in gun-controlled Chicago, nine of whom died.
This brings the total number of people shot in Chicago to 2,600 year-to-date. The number of shooting victims for all of last year was 2,988.

According to the Chicago Tribune, one portion of the weekend, “from Saturday afternoon to early Sunday,” was especially violent. During that time alone, “five people were killed and at least 19 others were wounded.”

Among the killed was 19-year-old Arshell Dennis, the son of a Chicago police officer. Dennis and a 20-year-old man were shot on Chicago’s Far South Side during the early morning hours Sunday.

Seven people were shot, three fatally, on Friday night alone.

Tribune reports indicate the weekend’s 52 shooting victims and nine fatalities are seemingly part of the new normal in Chicago gun violence. Forty-nine people were shot, nine fatally, during the previous weekend, and “52 people were shot, seven of them fatally,” the weekend before.

In 2015, Chicago saw 490 homicides. This year, only halfway through August, 443 have already occurred...etc.

Any sign of BLM and co getting agitated about this? No?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department says a $400 million cash payment to Iran was contingent on the release of American prisoners.
Spokesman John Kirby says negotiations over the United States’ returning Iranian money from a decades-old account was conducted separately from the prisoner talks. But he says the U.S. withheld delivery of the cash as leverage until the U.S. citizens had left Iran.

Both events occurred Jan. 17.

Kirby spoke after The Wall Street Journal reported that the departures of the crisscrossing planes were linked.
