The Internet services company Dyn was hit by a cyber attack Friday, disrupting web traffic on the east coast of the United States, the company reported on its website.

A slew of major sites like Twitter, Netflix, and Spotify were affected by what was described as a DDoS, or a distributed denial of service attack, that caused widespread problems across the Internet.

“Starting at 11:10 UTC [7:10 EDT] on October 21st-Friday 2016 we began monitoring and mitigating a DDoS attack against our Dyn Managed DNS [domain name system] infrastructure,” Dyn reported.

Dyn said the attack was resolved less than two hours later, by 9:20 EDT....etc,

One hopes it wasn't yet another Cunning Plan from those internet geniuses, Kerry and Biden - twitter was down again this afternoon.

This sounds like a perverse comedy show.

Pollster and analyst Pat Caddell discussed recent presidential election polling on Friday with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow, saying, “Something is going on in this country in these polls.”
“All of the tracking polls keep holding at Trump being ahead,” he continued. “And then all of these other polls that are one-off polls, or whatever … I don’t know how they’re doing some of these university polls. You just put the name of some university and apparently it becomes credible, whether they know what they’re doing, or not.

Caddell was pointing out the discrepancy between the different types of polls. “But in any event, polling is all over the place…. Something isn’t adding up,” said Caddell.

“Something is going to happen here, I just sense it,” he concluded. Either “Hillary will glide into the White House, or we’re headed for one of the greatest shocks in American politics. I think it’s a very close call. I think the shock potential is enormous.”

I no longer pay any attention to polls.

The huge attack on global internet access, which blocked some of the world’s most popular websites, is believed to have been unleashed by hackers using common devices like webcams and digital recorders.

Among the sites targeted on Friday were Twitter, Paypal and Spotify. All were customers of Dyn, an infrastructure company in New Hampshire in the US that acts as a switchboard for internet traffic.

Outages were intermittent and varied by geography, but reportedly began in the eastern US before spreading to other parts of the country and Europe.

Users complained they could not reach dozens of internet destinations, including Mashable, CNN, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Yelp and some businesses hosted by Amazon.

What that isn't making clear is that, seemingly, anything with the word 'smart' in front of it was used. Yes, that's 'smart' phones/fridges/heating systems - everything.

I am happy to say that I have nothing 'smart' as I personally feel it is utterly foolish to hand control of essential everyday items over to outside actors. But that's just me....

Mind you, after Crazy Joe Biden mouthed off about the US launching 'cyber attacks' on Russia, most people are going to blame the State Department, anyway.

When I learned that I was deploying to support a contracting command, I
figured I would learn about the Afghan economy. What I hadn't figured was
that those lessons would have nothing to do with my official duties.

When I stepped off the helo pad at Camp Phoenix and into my office for the
first time I was immediately introduced to GS-15 DoD employee. She asked me
how many "cartouches"I wished to purchase. A cartouche, I learned, is a

cheap pendant necklace engraved on one side with an English name and on the
other with the same name in Dari (or so they claim; it may well say Go Home
American Swine for all any of us know). I initially demurred but eventually
relented and agreed to purchase three. Even that compromise was met with an
incredulous look and a puzzled "just three?" The interaction seemed odd but
I figured that I just happened to arrive as a bulk order was being placed
and that purchases like this were atypical. I was wrong.

My coworkers spend multiple duty hours each and every day shopping at the
bazaars. They buy jewelry. They buy rugs. They buy electronics. They buy
fur coats. Fur coats! Not a day goes by without someone coming into my
office to show off a new purchase. My Afghanistan workplace is Project
Runway and I'm Tim Gunn--I disapprove of everything around me and hope
everyone will be sent home.

Yesterday a handful of them reviewed their bank statements to figure out

Now, Trump and Sanders disagree on domestic economics, but their foreign policies aren't far apart - no more stupid wars or regime-changing. I could see a good few Sanders supporters holding their noses and voting for Trump.

Also worth remembering that Black organisations like Nation of Islam have said, Don't vote for the Dems, they're just using you.
