Re: Mrs May calls snap General Election
The cybernats will go apesh*t if the Toaries!!!!! make gains here. It's only two years since they thought they had 'cleansed' Scotland of Toaries!!!!! apart from Mundell, down in the Borders, but the incompetence and dishonesty of Sturgeon and her mob has brought the Toaries!!!!! back to life.
Also, it will wreck their almost all yellow map.
PS - if you think the McCann-haters are bad, you should see the Sturgeon cult in action.....

She was at their manifesto launch earlier this week.......she was also one of the great unwashed outside Holyrood when Sturgeon and the Greens voted to hold another referendum.

Re: Mrs May calls snap General Election
Fake social media accounts are pumping out thousands of pro-Jeremy Corbyn messages in a desperate bid to get Labour elected, new analysis has found.
The Twitter robots, known as bots, post up to 1,000 messages a day which either attack Theresa May and the Tories, or promote Labour.
The accounts are set up to look like real people posting on social media to hoodwink users into thinking they are genuine views.

Re: Mrs May calls snap General Election
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/jun/02/scottish-government-officials-accused-of-cash-for-votes-cover-up
Nicola Sturgeon has been urged to investigate after Scottish government officials were accused of covering up allegations of a “cash for votes” funding announcement in Glasgow.
The Scottish Conservatives said internal emails proved that civil servants had admitted they had broken “purdah” rules when they announced an £8.35m regeneration grant for Glasgow only two days before the local elections.
The Scottish National party housing minister Kevin Stewart had said the grant would help create 196 new jobs, and the funding was tweeted by SNP council candidates. In the event, the Scottish National party won the Glasgow council elections with 41% of first preference votes but did not secure an overall majority.
The Tories accused the Scottish government that week of regularly making politically sensitive announcements during the council election campaign, and have since criticised Holyrood spending announcements during the current Westminster election campaign.
Government officials denied on election day that publicising the funding deal so close to the vote was a breach of those rules. In a statement to news organisations including the Guardian they said: “These instances represented legitimate government activity, properly considered against the guidance.”
It has now emerged from emails released to the Tories under freedom of information rules that senior civil servants did believe the timing of the announcement broke the rules, which are intended to stop a party in power from influencing votes by using government resources in the three weeks before an election.
Another email on election day from Aileen Easton, the first minister’s official spokesperson, said she believed it was “implicit that it was a wrong call given where we are”....etc.
No point expecting Sturgeon to 'investigate' - she'd have to 'investigate' herself.

I gather Jezza is currently busy throwing away the election on some TV special.
And even worse for him, May was on first and came out unscathed.

It was BBC's Question Time with David Dimbleby, each had 45 minutes to answer questions from the audience. I actually watched it; she was good, measured and calm. He was lying through his teeth - nothing unusual there.bb1 wrote:I gather Jezza is currently busy throwing away the election on some TV special.

PM: Govt must deliver on the will of the people on Brexit
PM grilled over social care costs cap
Corbyn: I can't wait to get started on Brexit
Labour leader rules out doing coalition deals
Corbyn on the IRA: I deplore all acts of terrorism
Corbyn refuses to commit to use of nuclear weapons
Jeremy Corbyn was jeered and heckled by a live television audience as he said that he would not fire nuclear weapons first to defend Britain and failed to explicitly condemn the IRA.
The Labour leader looked uncomfortable as members of the audience ridiculed him about why he would not launch weapons if Britain was at risk from a country like North Korea.
He said he would not launch nuclear weapons in a first strike attack and that using the weapons in retaliation would have to be based on the “circumstances” of the situation.
He said: “Any circumstances where anyone is prepared to use a nuclear weapon is disastrous for the whole planet that is why there has to be a process of disarmament.
“The reality is we have to protect ourselves we would not use it as first use and if we would use it millions are going to die. I would decide on the circumstances at the time.”
Meanwhile, the Labour leader was grilled over his links to the IRA as an audience member asked him: “Why have you never regarded the IRA as terrorists?
Mr Corbyn replied: “I have deplored all acts of terrorism by anybody in Northern Ireland or anywhere else.”
He added: “I don’t approve of any terrorism of any sort or any terrorist acts of any sort.”
But the audience member then came back and asked: “They did kill a lot of people, didn’t they?”
Mr Corbyn said: “All deaths are wrong, all killing is wrong.”
The Labour leader also ruled out forming a coalition government as he was pressed over whether he planned to do a deal with Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP leader.
He said: “We are not looking to do deals with anybody. We are not forming a coalition government. I want to form a Labour government with a majority to carry out this amazing programme which can give so much hope and opportunity to so many people. So no deal.”
He added: “I thought your question was about deals and I said no deals.”

Re: Mrs May calls snap General Election
You're welcome. I didn't intend watching it but the scifi series I watch at that time has finished and the new one hasn't gripped my attention at all. I put my 'legal hat' on and tried to watch with no bias, but there is something about Mr Trotsky (my son's name for him!) that makes me more than somewhat fearful of what will happen to the UK if he wins. I do know that I will start putting 'Austrian' on any documents asking for my nationality. LL

Re: Mrs May calls snap General Election
I doubt very much if he will win, LL, these rallies of the adoring faithful do NOT represent the famous Silent Majority. Remember Kinnock's triumphalism and what happened next?
A Corbyn win would destroy the economy, there would be a huge capital flight, the pound would plummet, and so would shares. And no, 'fat cats' do NOT own shares - pension companies, etc., do. We'd be Venezuela in a year.
Just think, which political party never holds stupid rallies and marches?

Re: Mrs May calls snap General Election
Exactly right, LL.
Speaking of stupid marches and rallies....
Glasgow is going to have to suffer that today. The less-insane of the SNP (yes, there are still one or two) have told them not to do it, but they're not listening, it gives them hope, or something.
The marchers think they look like Bruce rallying the troops at Bannockburn. They actually look like Hitler Youth in face paint, waving flags and placards, with stormtroopers in the form of the Yesbikers bringing up the rear.
And that's without the disruption and hassle they cause. Ah well, there should be some hilarious pics of morons in unicorn heads later.

Re: Mrs May calls snap General Election
The SNP are running Glasgow now, LL, though thankfully as a minority - they've been showering money on it in the month since the council elections.
They're NOTHING like the old SNP, all they care about is the Central Belt, in particular Glasgow. Sturgeon actually dreamed up some deranged scheme to raise council taxes for 'they rich folk' in Aberdeen and hand it over to Glasgow - fortunately, that bit of outright theft was stopped.
As time goes on, I can see the SNP being driven back to the old Labour seats, where people who used to vote for monkeys with red rosettes now vote for monkeys with yellow and black rosettes.
They're every bit as nasty and spite-filled as the Corbinistas, with added nationalism - dangerously close to national socialism, in fact.

No idea what the music is, LL...
I also have NO idea why the SNP put a wet-behind-the-ears lassie like that up against a heavyweight - they've done the same in the Borders against Murrell - possibly because of Sturgeon's demands for all-female shortlists? They couldn't find anyone better? I fear they are in for many disappointments on Thursday....

Not exactly hotbeds of nationalism...I swear the pollsters are just walking into their nearest Glasgow Sinn Fein pubs, asking them what they're voting, and assuming all of Scotland will do the same.
Another thing - an awful lot of people think the local SNP took their vendetta against Carmichael way, way too far with Frenchgate. Sure, he was a lying toad, and shouldn't have got involved in any of it....but all politicians tell fibs.
They pursued him through the courts, and left him with a huge legal bill for defending himself - I understand he got help with some of it from the Rowntree Trust? Anyway, the whole business left a bad taste behind for non-fanatics.
He seems to have a near-impeccable record as a constituency MP, and I suspect that will count for more than the Frenchgate nonsense. Especially when the opposition is a daft lassie.

Really, a unicorn is a perfect symbol for a country so adept at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, LL...
Given the sheer mess Sturgeon and co have made, when the history books are written, current events are going to fit in nicely with gallantly charging downhill into H8's troops and getting your army, nobility and yourself wiped out, trying to set up colonies in jungles, marching to Derby then retreating to get massacred, and being convinced you only have to turn up in Argentina to win the World Cup.
Wha's like us, indeed.
