Is there some kind of new meaning to:

We've stated we have info from a female #McCann Team insider

In the normal world, that is a statement of fact.

Bennett has stated he has info from some woman he claims is a 'Team McCann insider'.

Now Scotland Yard have asked him to produce the woman. He may have a problem if it is CocoMentalMidasDarling, as many suspect:

I forced myself to read his earlier waffle about how Scotland Yard was going to receive his 'dossier' about his victims with cries of joy:


I have disclosed to the D.I. and in our letter to D.C.I. Andy Redwood that we have received written evidence of interest from an insider within one of the Madeleine McCann private investigation teams - and invited D.C.I. Redwood or one of his detectives to contact us if he wants to follow this up.

Scotland Yard have told him:

You state that you have a first hand information from an insider from the McCann's private investigators. This information would obviously be of interest to the team and they would welcome details of this individual to allow them to interview her if she is able to provide relevant evidence.

Here's the thing - what was Dave Edgar's fairly successful career, pre-retirement? What on earth makes Bennett think the McCanns' real private investigators are not on perfectly good terms with the Yard?

I cannot wait for Bennett to wheel out Agent Z Coco, though I doubt if she has anything of much interest to say after she was busted spying on Brian Kennedy.

At our meeting with D.I. Dobson of Operation Grange (Scotland Yard Madeleine McCann Review) on 3 October, we asked who was the point of contact for the Portuguese investigation, since D.I. Dobson took pains to emphasise: "This remains a Portuguese investigation; we are merely carrying out a review".

He did say that the Head of the Portuguese criminal investigation was a lady, but said to us (a) he didn't know her name and (b) that even if he did know her name and contact details, he would not give them to us.

We asked again in writing if we could have the contact details for the head of the Portuguese criminal investigation, saying we may wish to submit evidence direct to them.

That has drawn the following response (reproduced verbatim) from D.I. Dobson today:

We are the single point of contact in the UK for all information in this case. Again I believe this has already been made clear to you. It is a Portuguese investigation and it is not in my remit to release information concerning their jurisdiction.


I wonder if the lady Senior Investigating Officer in Portugal is also keeping her identity and contact details secret over there in Portugal. If so, it would be jolly difficult for anyone to supply information to them, wouldn't it?

1. Post the info all over the internet.

2. Start stalking the officers involved.

3. Make sure his good friend Gonc also knew who they were, so he could try to shove his oar in.

Why should Bennett be told anything, anyway? He's no-one important, he has no more right to privileged information than any of us.

Entirely predictably, the Hounders are already trying to stalk any Portuguese, female, senior PJ officer who might just be in charge...

Does anyone remember seeing her photo on MCF's some time last year I think. She was looking out of a window with a rather pensive look on her face. Brown hair, shoulder length maybe. I cannot find that photo right now, but maybe her name is attached to it !!

Do they ever step back and take a long, hard look at themselves and what they are doing? If they get hold of any name, they will make their target's life a misery, with their usual filthy imaginings and allegations.

He should be presented with a bill for the amount of time he has cost the police in wasted time.

Think about this from the Mets perspective. They know everything about Gonc's virtually useless investigation. They know both the half time and full time scores. They know how to correctly interpret forensic evidence and much much more. They don't need to waste their time on a bunch of amateur armchair detectives.

Would the hounders tell a surgeon how to operate on them if they needed surgery?

And they have brains, so they do know what they are looking for.

Not very encouraged by the SY refusal to divulge the Portugese investigator, unless because of legal action pending against Tony it has a more "personal" flavour. If SY's remit is to review ONLY and the investigation remains Portugese, but SY say that any new evidence be passed to them, then this does not sound legally correct to me. I suspect any new material should be submitted to Amarals solicitor and to the head of the PJ if that is known.

And WTF has it got to do with Gonc, or his solicitor? Gonc was booted off the case and out of the PJ, oops, sorry, I mean 'retired'.

I am sure the current head of the PJ is in touch with Scotland Yard, don't fret your empty little hater heads.

Just wait until Scotland Yard reveal the results of their Review, Tony. He'll likely outright accuse them of a whitewash, after he provided all that irrefutable evidence.

This'll cause an outcry, and I don't suppose that Scotland Yard will sue him, so Bennett could bash away at that one for some time.

I have heard it all now. Seriously, how can so many brainless people be gathered in same place at the same time and not realize they are agreeing with a half-wit? Can't they understand it is no longer Amaral's case! He is a civilian, a Joe Blogg, a nobody of any importance. What's more, if the PJ don't know all about the case now, they never will!

I suspect they are fishing for scraps of info to pass to Gonc, Tony. Gonc may well be wanting to see the way the wind is blowing ahead of his own court date.

"Any new material should be submitted to Amaral's solicitor?" What game do they think they are on? This is a Criminal Investigation in Portugal, sort of. And Scotland Yard don't make a habit of leaking information. That's Amaral's bag, so he's the last person The PJ would want to know anything.
