So, why didn't Gonc play his Ace today?

Very odd behaviour from Gonc, IMO. This business with the lawyer doesn't really wash - not least because Gonc's pulled this stunt so often before. Crying wolf and all that...


Surely Gonc had ample defence lawyers sitting beside him to hold his paw? Also, his fan club are forever insisting he has legal qualifications himself, with their fawning over 'Dr Amaral'.

Surely if Gerry McCann testified today, that would have been a perfect opportunity for Amoral to play that fabled Ace, with his adversary right in front of him, and the eyes of the world's media on him.

That Ace would have saved Gonc - indeed, made him a hero. Instead of the zero he is today, with what is widely regarded as a feeble excuse having been concocted to save him from having to face Gerry McCann.

Does anyone know why Gonc is so reluctant to play his fabled Ace? Apart from the fact that he doesn't have one, and never did?

His 'witness list' seems to be a roll-call of arguidos, convicted criminals - oh, and the flasher.

Sargento should be no stranger to a court room. Who can forget him almost fouling up a high-profile rape case in his eagerness to pass confidential information, not to the police, but to his chums at TVI?

It's a role-call of ne'er-do-wells from what I can see. Doesn't Gonc know anyone who isn't a convicted criminal, multi-arguido, flasher or general low-life?

Yup. It involved Team Gonc, so was bound to be a lie. As usual, it was just a question of waiting for the lie to be exposed.

Interesting to see that the numpties are cheering Gonc on for 'throwing a sickie' when he heard Gerry McCann was heading his way.

Isabel Duarte, the lawyer who is representing the McCann family said: “It’s not surreal, it’s Portugal.”

Sad, but true. Gonc's defence wouldn't get away with these stunts in the UK.

Nor in the States. He's be paying the court costs on top of everything else for the day.

Gonc et al is fast becoming a laughing stock. Again.

Amaral and his cronies really are a disgrace to Portugal; his admirers cannot complain about him being regarded with contempt when he pulls stunts like this.

They can't seem to suck it up and take it like men, can they?

What a bunch of cowards.           

Can you imagine the screeching and screaming there would be from the haters if Ms Duarte was so unprofessional as to pull a stunt like this? We'd never hear the last of it.
