Now, playing devil's advocate, what if the 'abductor' is buying all the papers and showing her just how much her parents are not searching for her but only dip in and out of Lisbon to try to enrich themselves

Maybe she has seen EVERYTHING they are doing and is not impressed!

And maybe, just maybe, she'd run a mile from the pair of them in the, sad to say, unlikely event of them ever meeting again.

Like people have said the twins might just rebel, big time, when they find out the real truth.

Why would Madeleine not do the same?

Especially if 'nasty man' has been showing her EVERYTHING her parents have not done

Anyone up for a glass of Déjà vu ?

We all predicted something like this would happen back in the spring, didn't we, Tony? The only 'emergency' yesterday was Gonc and his cronies having to dream something up in a hurry because Gonc is scared of Gerry McCann and probably wet himself at the thought of having to face Gerry in court.

You would think they could have made it less obvious. Seriously, exactly a year from the last call off....go figure.

It's pathetic, Tony, and fooling no-one. Even Gonc's devotees seem none too happy - probably because their idol has painted a wide yellow streak down his own back.

What stunt will he try next to avoid Gerry McCann?

Wish this was taking place in the UK - can you imagine Gonc being hauled by the scruff of his fat, dirty neck into court? LL

My first thought was that he was still p*ssed from the night before, between the vacant expression on his face, the scruffy clothes and the 'thumbs up' - guess the thumbs up was because he knew his lawyer had fixed it so he wouldn't have to face Gerry.

As soon as I heard of the call off my first thought was; this is a joke. My second thought was, cluck, cluck, cluck!

And so it came to pass - wish I was as good with lottery numbers, but sadly, Cowardy Gonc is much more predictable.

No wonder the press is so scathing this morning!

I do not believe a word that comes from Amaral and Co' mouth. Not one word.

The only people who do are his deluded groupies, Tony, and they're too thick to matter - some of them appear to have mental health 'issues' into the bargain.

Because Gonc Groupies never read anything that doesn't toe the Gonc party line, they still believe Morais when she comes out with her guff about him having mass support in Portugal, which is yet another lie.

His 'mass support' three years ago consisted of Morais, and a couple of strangely-dressed, shouty women who appeared to be of pension age.

Gonc and his cronies are detested in their homeland - just look at the track record of his witnesses!

Flores the Masonic Mayor, who resigned as Mayor of Santarem on 'health grounds' when he was in hot water over corruption, but has miraculously recovered to stand as mayor of another municipality whose last mayor was jailed for corruption. He's nothing but a left-over from PIDE, which may be why his supporters get into fist-fights with opponents.

Tavares de Almeida - a convicted torturer, FFS, who used Spanish Inquistion-style torture on Virgilino Borges.

Paiva - internet flasher. Who according to one Gonc stalwart also uses the internet for anonymous hook-ups.

Sargento - cod psychologist, never out of court because of his irresponsibility and need to get on daytime telly as an 'expert'. I've lost count of the number of times Sargento has been the defendant.

What a shower! The absolute dregs of Portugal - as Portuguese people know perfectly well.

Yup. Looks like Amoral knew his lawyer had fixed it for him so he wouldn't have to face Gerry McCann.

Also looks like hassling female witnesses is much more to the defence's taste. Which isn't really surprising.

Wonder if that's Gonc's Lucky Shirt? He seems to wear it constantly, for court appearances and those evenings when he's being a Babe Magnet.  

Incidentally, any sign of Team Gonc explaining why they refused to let Kate McCann give evidence earlier? One would have expected them to be eager to have a chance at cross-examination, but seemingly not.

Gonc really must be scared of the McCanns - no wonder he's a laughing stock!

What are the chances of two lawyers exactly a year apart using surgery as an excuse to call off a trial?

No-one believes it, Tony. Even Gonc's deluded fans are having to perform somersaults to explain this one away, especially as it was widely predicted.

The rest of the world can see that Amoral is running scared.

They aren't very happy bunnies on The Justice Forum today, are they? All squawking like headless, defenceless banshies. And not one decent response from any of them. Just endless defensive and offensive remarks.
And all entirely ignoring the fact that until now The McCanns were not allowed to be heard.

Of course, this is all about Gonc. If Gerry is allowed to testify then Gonc will have to, or look like a coward.
