Disgraceful isn't it? Look at his wife - not a happy camper at all. What can you expect from someone who arrived an hour after the memorial had started?

The three of them should be utterly ashamed of themselves, taking stupid selfies in the middle of ANYONE'S memorial service.

Really is disgraceful. It makes a mockery of any words of inspiration etc any of them could come out with.

That is exactly what I was thinking, Lily. All those fine words are pretty hollow besides them making spectacles of themselves - couldn't they at least have waited until the service was over to take pictures of themselves?

It makes them appear too selfish, immature and vain, doesn't it?

They are, deservedly, getting a rough ride in the media - the Danish one's just a politician too. And Neil Kinnock's daughter in law, so what can you expect?

The images caused anger on Twitter with users of the social networking site saying it was "moronic" to take a selfie at a memorial service.

Twitter user James Armitage wrote: "What selfish morons take a 'selfie' at a memorial service? Oh yeah that's right, Barack Obama and David Cameron."

Sarah McDermott sent a direct tweet to Mr Cameron which said: "You have precisely zero class or decorum.

Can't fault those comments.

Lily, I went to read about the memorial service, not least because it is a moment in history, and the first thing I saw was those three tw@ts messing about with a stupid smart phone. I really could not believe my eyes.

How hard would it have been to sit still, look dignified, with maybe the odd slight smile at memories - as is done in normal society? Instead of acting like a bunch of chavs in a church?

It is a requirement of those who lead us to set a good example, Bonny.

As I can only really speak about one of them, there certainly is no leader quality in him, sadly.

Her Majesty would never do anything like that, thank goodness.

Denmark is a monarchy too - the elegant Margrethe II is on the throne, so the blonde bimbo is just a politician, not a Head of State. If I was a US citizen, I would be fuming.

Oh that's right. Queen Margrethe II is lovely as is her son the Crown Prince.

There's a lot to be said for people being trained from birth in how to represent their nation on solemn occasions WITHOUT playing with their phones and taking selfies.

That image is going to be everyone's abiding memory of the memorial service. Shame on them.   

How can anyone take them seriously now?

I hope Michelle Obama spent the rest of the day beating him around the head with her heaviest handbag - she looked absolutely furious. And I don't blame her.

What were they not thinking?

Thank God assorted Royals are going to the funeral proper.
