I used to be pro-EU, or at least pro-Common Market, LL, but now, I fear it's actually going to be the cause of conflict of some kind in Europe.

Ordinary people pretty much agree with Orban - look at these figures:

Oh dear the Hungarian Opposition leader has shot himself in the foot it would seem. I should explain that Ferenc Gyurcsány was found to have cooked the books when his party won the election in 2006, his legitimacy being permanently questioned by opposition parties based on the fact that he withheld information about the actual budget deficit in his 2006 re-election campaign to get elected. He was soundly beaten by Victor Orbán in 2009.

A crime against reality

Former prime minister and now leader of the opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) Ferenc Gyurcsány seems to be in a competition with himself: make a statement about migration issues that simply cannot be outdone, then go ahead and a few days later declare something else that outdoes the previous comment. It started innocently enough with the DK-head welcoming various refugee families into his home for a dinner and an overnight stay (DK spokesman Zsolt Gréczy just happened to be there that night with a camera), but then Gyurcsány raised the stakes. First his party said that last Wednesday’s clashes at the border happened after police were ordered “most likely by the Prime Minister to brutally attack the peaceful migrants”. According to Gyurcsány, a “happy, celebrating group arrived to the border”. Ok then. This was not enough though. On Monday, after Parliament granted authorisation similar to that of the police force to soldiers on duty in areas where the government has declared a state of migration crisis, the DK-head called this a “crime against humanity”. Let me repeat that: a crime against humanity. You know who was or is being prosecuted for such a crime? Hitler and the Nazis, Milosevic and co, or people involved in criminal activities in Darfur. Nothing could be further from the truth but this is not the biggest problem with the statement. Gyurcsány comparing the current situation in Hungary to the crazy regimes actually committing crimes against humanity quite simply diminishes the immense suffering that these people have been through. I guess this is a price he is more than willing to pay to make sure the spotlight stays on him.

I assume the writer of this realised that DK-head, if read quickly, could end up sounding like an insult? Yep!! LL Hahau

Elsewhere, clashes between groups of refugees in Germany were reported to have erupted at asylum-seeker accommodation – the latest incident in a spate of recent violence.

The violence at a centre in Hamburg exploded late on Wednesday night after a dispute between 200 Syrian and Afghan asylum-seekers over the use of a shower. Police said four people were injured.

Germany took in more than 200,000 refugees in September alone. In the German parliament, where proposed measures such as swifter deportations for economic migrants were discussed, Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière called for a “culture of recognition” from newcomers.

“This includes not fighting, this includes having patience and respecting other people, independent of religion and gender,” he said.

Why would these men 'respect' Germans, when German officials are throwing native Germans out of their homes to make way for these invaders? There is NOTHING for anyone to respect in such weakness and appeasement.

They don't respect their own women and children, throw litter and excrement everywhere, and call European women 'whores' - there is NO way they are going to suddenly 'respect other people'.

In the real world, moonbattery and pathological altruism are seen as signs of weakness, not strength.

At the start, I truly thought that the EU was a great idea. Time has changed that and what is happening now seems incredible.

Weak people in high office are doing so much harm. Thank goodness some are brave enough to speak up.

Passengers are being warned of Eurotunnel and Eurostar delays after a "massive invasion" of over 100 migrants overnight.

Police said the "large and co-ordinated" group stormed the Calais terminal just before midnight and services were immediately shut for safety reasons.

Eurotunnel was forced to suspend all train services between Folkestone and Calais but hope to resume some service by 10am, although has warned of disruptions. Eurostar is running but with delays.

A spokesman for Eurotunnel said: "It's a massive invasion and intrusion by a very large and co-ordinated group of migrants.

"They are being gathered up by the police authorities."

Doesn't surprise me one bit. The same people were weeping and wailing when one of their pets robbed, raped and murdered an elderly Italian couple.

Not over the dead innocents, heavens no! They were handwringing in case thought badly of their 'migrants' because of the killings.

Slovakia has set the ball rolling on a court case which could overturn the EU plan to relocate 120,000 refugees.
Its government, on Wednesday (30 September), formally tasked lawyers in the justice ministry to file a legal challenge at the EU Court in Luxembourg under article 263 of the EU treaty.

Slovakia was, last week, outvoted on the migrant plan, which obliges it to take in at least 802 refugees from Greece and Italy.
A justice ministry source said its legal argument is still being drafted.

But article 263 allows states to query decisions “on grounds of lack of competence, infringement of an essential procedural requirement, infringement of the Treaties or of any rule of law relating to their application, or misuse of powers”.

It says cases must be filed “within two months” of the EU decision, with Slovakia aiming for a deadline of 18 December.

Alexandra Donevova, a justice ministry spokesowman, told EUobserver that Bratislava is “convinced the legislation [on refugee relocations] violates its rights”.

She also cited Slovak PM Robert Fico as saying Slovakia won’t take any refugees until the case is decided - a process which could last years.

More than 100 migrants broke through fences and stormed the Channel Tunnel in what authorities described as an "organised attack"

A 'massive invasion’ of migrants led to fighting deep in the Channel Tunnel today - as French authorities blamed British left wing groups for the 'coordinated attack'.

Fights broke out deep inside the undersea link as around 100 young men attempted to reach Britain.

The gang of migrants were almost 10 miles inside the Channel Tunnel before they were confronted by security guards.

The incident resulted in the suspension of the Eurotunnel, causing chaos for travellers.

French detectives this afternoon said they fear hard left agitators, including ones from Britain, were among those leading the ‘coordinated attack’.

An anarchist group called ‘No Borders’ which campaigns for an end to all nation states and absolute freedom of movement is said to have stepped up its presence in Calais this week.

Later on Saturday, hundreds of migrants living in illegal camps around the port town could be seen throwing stones at lorries, and then trying to clamber aboard them when they stopped.

The 'No Borders' mob again....hmmm.
