2.41pm: The final witness of the day Nick Fagge is now giving evidence.

He worked at the Daily Express between 2001 and 2010 and is now a staff reporter at the Daily Mail.

He went to Morocco in 2007 to chase a story about Madeleine McCann.

2.43pm: He says as a reporter in Portugal he would not be thinking of a potential libel action back in London.

''I wouldn't be thinking if the story came to the high court, I'd be thinking of verifying the story as best I good, I wouldn't be thinking of a potential libel case.

No, because the editor of the time decided it was the only story he was interested in and put it on the front page regardless of how strong the story was.

Not, at its truth. the Madeleine story was on the front page of the Daily Express more than any other newspaper, because he decided it would sell newspapers, it became an obsession of his.

2.46pm: Leveson is now expected to call in the editor of the Daily Express in 2008 to give evidence after Flanagan's assertion that the McCann story was an "obsession" of his.

Leveson: It can't just be a question of sales can it?

Flanagan: I think you will have to ask the editor that.

Please tell me that I am not the only one that is so disgusted with this whole thing? These reporters made a conscience decision to sell their souls and destroy the McCanns and for what? Money?! I'm saddened it's taken four years for these lies to finally be exposed on a massive scale. If Amaral thinks he's going to win his libel case, he's sorely mistaken. All Isabel has to do is bring up all of the lies these reporters wrote. And they backed-up the lies from a known liar.

I also want to cry because at the crux of all of this is Madeleine. This poor child was betrayed by so many. Amaral had the responsibility to look for her and the press had the responsibility to print the truth. Instead, they sold out at the expense of a child. How they sleep at night is mind boggling.

I think I am beyond angry, Tony. The whole nasty business is now laid bare - I don't know who is worst, Gonc and co for spreading all these lies and filth, the journos for publishing it without question, or the morons who are STILL repeating it as Truth.

As for the 'wonderful translators' - they are about as wonderful as the invented characters like 'Vera' who supposedly knew Secret Stuff. All inventions and sick fantasies from vile people who, for some reason - so far - unknown, were Hellbent on stitching up the McCanns.

Easy to see why they made so little effort to actually locate Madeleine, isn't it - framing innocent people is so much easier.

Bonny, I'm teetering on wanting to hit a wall and just sobbing. My heart truly breaks for the McCanns. I'm angry and sad all at once.

So much heartache and misery. The press is powerful and they knew that what they printed would be repeated. They didn't care. Now we know some people's moral compass is nil.

I so want to hurt Amaral. The man is pure evil. He manipulated the press and it wasn't the first time he did it. That's why so many in Portugal believe the lies about Joana's mother. Amaral leaked what he wanted to the press and she was tried by media.

Zenny, Amaral was the one who wrote his book around his vile theories and we know what he said. His book, as lead investigator was taken as gospel, and this stopped some people from looking for the child.

He is up the creek without a paddle in his upcoming libel trial. His defense is untenable. He will pay in money as it is the only thing he can understand and will hurt him. He never cared about the child. He sold out his soul. He will be paying for eternity for that.

If he cannot sleep at night, it is about his forthcoming loss of money.

Try not to get distraught as he will get his. He will...... hug

Zenny, that has nagged away at a lot of people. Why the cover-up from Gonc and co, and the lies - almost from Day One?

Why were the English-language sites flooded with 'wonderful translators' and puppet characters who just happened to know Secret Stuff?

And let us not forget the GNR officer who suddenly came into money - Morais stopped discussion of that, dismissing it with an airy, Oh, he inherited it, it's not relevant.

Can you imagine what they would say if one of the UK officers who flew out suddenly found a fortune in his bank account?

I still have this hope that Portugal has finally had enough of these rotten apples, and will finally take action against them.

The way I feel right now, I would be happy to see the whole lot of them behind bars - 'senior investigators', police translators, 'fixers', the whole scummy crew.

I am pretty sure it will, Zenny. It is clear that the PJ are finally moving against Gonc and his clique seperately from this - news which no doubt Morais hoped wouldn't reach the ears of the sheeples.

And these statements were all given on oath, to Judge Lord Leveson.

Ms Duarte can now throw the book at Gonc in court; one way or another, the good people of Portugal will get to hear the truth about this.

And know what? I am sure they are going to be just as angry as we are; maybe even angrier, because it is their country's name that has been dragged into the dirt by Gonc and co.

What is coming out now is absolutely extraordinary. But the cynic in me says that they have little to lose, and libel actions are time limited to one year.

I cannot understand or excuse the mindset of those journalists who take the approach "make it sing, make it dance, make it up" - regardless of the consequences.
