Any news regarding Amaral's case against Correia ? Is it still going ahead next week ?

As far as we know, Gonc hasn't backed down yet, but he still has time to do so, even though it would cause massive loss of face.

But that would still be better than the alternative....we await Breaking News from Portugal on this matter.

Aren't they asking themselves why Morais and Claudia are so quiet on the subject?

I seem to recall he apologised for the press intrusion to one of Mrs Fenn's male relatives, HB?

I have seen the forkers, time after time, claim that Kate McCann somehow 'insulted' Mrs Fenn in her book; which is odd, as her name isn't even mentioned.

I understand a lot of them are reading pirated copies on those dodgy torrent sites; I do wonder if the book has actually been altered, as they keep making statements about the contents which bear no resemblance to the printed book.

Unless they are, as usual, failing to process written English accurately?

It could have been anyone, HB - there were other people in the block, with their own balconies.

Attorney Leonor Cipriano trial opens



Leonor Cipriano's lawyer, Marcos Aragão Correia, begins today in Faro, on trial for allegedly defaming Gonçalo Amaral, Inspector of Judicial Police (PJ) coordinator of the investigation into the disappearance of Joan in 2004.

Former PJ inspector seeks compensation of three thousand euros Marcos Aragão Correia and also accused Antonio Pedro Dores, president of the Association Against Exclusion for Development (ACED).
According to judicial sources, at issue is a document of April 8, 2008, entitled "Report on Torture Leonor Cipriano perpetrated by the Judicial Police," which Aragão Correia prepared for ACED and was broadcast by the association.
Gonçalo Amaral, who was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment with suspended sentence for the same period in the judgment of inspectors and former officials accused of torture PJ's mother Joan, considered that the report was "damaging the honor and consideration personal and professional"
For its part, Aragão Correia requested the intervention of the attorney general's office, Pinto Monteiro, "in order to clarify the total incoherence and absolute unlawfulness of the Public Prosecutor under this hideous recent defamation charge that does not exist."
The disappearance of Joana in Aldeira Figueira, in Portimão, occurred September 12, 2004. The child's body at the time eight years, and never appeared Leonor Cipriano and her brother, John Cipriano, were sentenced to 16 years in prison each for the crimes of murder and concealment of a body.
