It would certainly explain why her firm was slow to respond to communications about the issue ...

I would imagine that there would be a few explanations required once the penny has dropped?

I don't think a large law firm would like to be shown up as having an incompetent attorney on board where such a high profile matter as Madeleine is concerned. Plus communication about the same from a top London law firm?

Sending letters to all the wrong people, and presuming to lecture the top UK libel firm about libel, particularly in the UK isn't really good form

HB, no it's not. In my mind it's negligent of Bremner to have done what she did (if she did it) at worst and incompetence at best?

Not another day of non-stop entertainment? I have real things to do Crying or Very sad

No doubt she will write us off as a load of "team McCann nutters", making mischief.

No, sans, we'll be 'haterz' - look at that puke-inducing exchange of awesomes! between Brown and Bremner, supposedly both professional, middle-aged women. They sound like a couple of teenage Beiber groupies.

Right this minute, neither of them have a shred of credibility. And after her mendacious conduct yesterday, I too suspect Brown is capable of planting 'evidence' so she can 'find' it while 'searching'.

And now twitter accounts are being deleted? The thick plottens....

    Delusional forker:

No one has to say anything to Pat - break a vow of silence or breach a confidence, they just have to take her by the hand and silently lead her to a place, or point a finger on a map - what was it that Amaral said about silence again? It would be interesting to note if Pat is followed in her everymove in Portugal - MI6 protecting national interests perhaps???

ROFLMAO rofl rofl rofl MI6? The Portuguese chapter of AA, more like - and not the one for cars biggrin

Have you ever seen anything more delusional? Take her hand and silently lead her to a place? No thanks, I'd be terrified she'd slough her skin.

And I take that, with all this hand-holding and finger pointing, the locals are all terrified to speak to the PJ?

But have been waiting all this time for a loud-mouthed Yank, who is an embarrassment to her country and to real American profilers, to come along and show them all up?

I can just see her, strutting around, shrieking, Don't you know who I am?

Brown is the kind of cliche American who gets Americans abroad a bad name.

Mind you, she should have fewer problems buying wine at breakfast time Wink

Interesting, that. McCann Supporters as a general rule don't get Publicity. But being honest and kind and genuine is soooo boring and unsensational. No Publicity in that for the likes of Brown who enjoy being foul and revolting. No wild theories for us who actually believe in The Rule of Law and Innocent until Proven Guilty.

People who support Madeleine and her family are not arrogant enough to think it is all about them, IMO - that is the domain of the Bennett, the Browns, the Goncs, and all the rest of them who are never happy unless they have got their names in the paper, Sabot.

And then there is this Cult of Personality, that the forkers all embrace, like North Koreans worshipping the latest Dear Leader.

Time after time, there has been an Adored One who is going to make it all better for them - look at those idiots who call Gonc Big Rock.

Right now, the object of their adoration is Brown the fake profiler.

Interesting, is it not, that Dr Nigel Redsquare Roberts realised yesterday that she is not what she seems?

Nigel Moore I don't really get this. Leaving aside the obvious errors ('Levinson' Inquiry and 'Isabel Duarte' at Carter-Ruck!) it's not really a 'cease-and-desist' letter, is it? A 'cease-and-desist' letter is a legal demand to remove something (and 'don't do it again') otherwise 'the boys' will be sent round (metaphorically speaking) to 'sort you out, big time'. As I read this (and it's only the final para that really needs to be read) it is a polite 'request' for CR to drop any objection and allow the book to go on sale again. I can't imagine CR will say anything but 'No' and that will be it. The ball will be back in PB's court... or Court, even. Maybe I need to open the curtains and let some light in, but that's the way I read it, anyway. As always, it's just my opinion and I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

She doesn't get it, does she? The UK press know all about this. The UK press isn't interested in her libel - she really needs to grasp that the UK isn't part of the States.

The UK press is, however, more than capable of doing a hatchet job on Brown, her Ghoul Tour, and her antics yesterday.

If she wasn't so egotistical, she would have read between the lines on the Anorak piece; she really needs to grasp that Anorak doesn't take 'sides'; it will laugh at anyone who they perceive to be making a fool of themselves.

She knows she's talking shite, and she knows the mentality of the people she is encouraging. She has just bitten off a bit more than she can chew, stupid bitch, and she will regret this one.
Either that, or she thinks Scotland Yard Senior Detectives are a bunch of thickos.
She could be forgiven for thinking Gonc is a thicko, but even The PIs are ex Brit Police with excellent records.
None of them are talking about what they have found, for obvious reasons, at least, obvious to anyone who has a grain of common sense.

I have seen some examples of US Law Enforcement recently, and all I can say is thank God for Juries, well, mostly. Although LE do appear to be a bit more careful these days.

But why does she keep on insisting that it is a Cease and Desist Letter when clearly it isn't? It's a rambling bunch of twaddle with a request tacked on the end. It doesn't even warrant a reply. Apart from being addressed to the wrong person in the wrong country.

Forker on Amazon - looks like Brown is getting her excuses in early:

I'm sure that Pat will keep the world updated via Facebook and Twitter if she has that opportunity whilst in Portugal, although she did indicate that she is uncertain about how much internet access she will have during her stay, so it may be that her findings won't become public knowledge until after she has returned to the USA.

Indeed, given her intention to update her ebook, it may be that she will prefer to play her cards close to her chest with regard to her conclusions.

Believe it or not, they do have wifi in Portugal; indeed, for a small country, Portugal has a first class reputation internet-wise.

So that excuse won't wash; the Brown netbook will work perfectly well in Portugal.

ETA, in the unlikely event that she does find anything so far unknown in the course of her 'search', shouldn't she be telling it to the PJ in Lisbon, with copies to Scotland Yard and the McCanns' PIs, not saving it for her next book?

But wait - didn't we hear all this in the course of Ghoul Tour #1?

I presume she will be carrying a laptop. Therefore no problem with internet access. Go into a local phone shop and get a dongle. Cost not that great. Service, I am told in PT is excellent.

Also I am told that PT is well served by wifi hotspots and even even some internet cafes are still around. Anyone claiming they can't get access to internet in PT, I am told, has not done their research (not kidding, thats what I was told by a friend who knows the place rather well) because the country is used by companies such as Vodafone to test equipment and services.

So any excuses about having no access to internet should be met with the contempt they deserve.
