I think we are all a bit stunned at her ego screeching antics, Zenny.Zenny wrote:crazytony wrote:Yo, Zenny, where you been
Been ultra-busy. I've been trying to read every day. I'm just gobsmacked at Brown's huge ego. Here's the thing about her comments about Portuguese and their children. Even though she has said it on her blog, she will be on her best behavior in Portugal. The hideous face we see on TV here in the states is tame compared to her Web persona.
However she, gave her best performance today with her, rent a kid story.

Re: Cease and Desist?
Tony, I could scarcely believe my eyes when she posted her multi-version, pretendy C & D 'letter' to Isabel Duarte Adam Tudor.
But what she posted today - beyond vile.
How could she say that about people whose hospitality she is about to exploit? And how can she be so casual and dismissive about it?
I hope she realises copies of that post are now in Portugal.

Re: Cease and Desist?
I don't know why we keep on being surprised and stunned. As fast as we recover from one horror another one comes along. We think it can't get any worse, and then it does.
WTF is going to happen tomorrow? Can I cope? Can you cope? At this rate we will all be on our knees and begging for mercy by the time Brown gets back home from Portugal. Presuming she does get back, of course.

Re: Cease and Desist?
She'll be lucky to get there at this rate:
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/snow-brings-britain-standstill-023127533.html
Travellers expressed disbelief as Britain's busiest airport axed half of all flights amid forecasts of dry weather following a nationwide blanket of snow.
The decision to ground planes at Heathrow for the second day running came as wintry showers ceased across the country.
Overnight up to 16cm of snow had swathed much of the country in a carpet of white, creating treacherous driving conditions and disrupting rail - as well as road and air - travel, while thousands of Britons ventured outside to enjoy the picturesque scenes.
But on Sunday, as the snow melted and the runways, taxiways and stands at Heathrow were cleared of snow, only 50% of the 1,300 scheduled flights were going ahead.
See, the thing is, her BA plane has to come from somewhere. Like Heathrow. And the schedule is now in chaos.

Re: Cease and Desist?
She's got to get to London first, Tony, and there is every chance that right now, her plane isn't where it is supposed to be due to 2" of snow causing chaos in London, as usual.

Lucky old you. But she will not be best pleased if that happens. I just want to know how The McCanns managed this.

Re: Cease and Desist?
My suspicion is that she isn't changing airlines, though that is possible. That timeline is very tight, if not impossibly tight to have a two hour meeting at a local hotel, but it might be what she is doing.
If she has booked with British Airlines the whole way though, she should have time for her meeting as the connection departs at 15.25.

She claims to be popping into the Sofitel for coffee I think. That would be the sensible choice. The Hilton would be silly from her terminal which is 5.
The Sofitel is actually connected to Terminal 5 with a direct link. About ten minutes from the terminal. But she has to take into account that the airport is a very big place and taxiing after landing can take fifteen minutes, then walking from the gate out of the terminal even if there are no queues at immigration can take 30 mins.
ETA It does seem she has done a bit of research if she is going to use the Sofitel. But coffee ain't cheap there. LOL

Its about 20 minutes by train Tony. But you would really need to know London well, I think to do it in that time line. Greenink may know better as my goegraphy is ????

Re: Cease and Desist?
Greenink, I take it her luggage will be put directly onto the Portuguese flight from her US flight?
If that is the case, will she go through UK customs?

Re: Cease and Desist?
I stand to be corrected, but I think that if she stayed in the international lounge, she wouldn't - but her fans then would need passports to get in? And I am pretty sure they wouldn't be allowed in without boarding passes anyway these days?
Between the chaos caused by the weather, and the sheer hassle of security these days, I think she is in for a shock.

Yes I would think her baggage will be through-checked from Baltimore to Lisbon. But because she is choosing to leave the airport and enter the UK (the hotel is not part of the secure area of the airport) she will have to go through Arrivals (immigration and customs). There are often queues especially for non-EU nationals at immigration but customs will usually be a formality of walking past an empty desk if she has nothing to declare.
When she returns from the hotel to the airport she will have to present herself for the full security checks and passport check before going to the gate for boarding. There are always queues at the security check, sometimes lengthy ones.
I think the minimum recommended transfer time at Terminal 5 is one hour for simple transfer from one plane to another. Adding the full arrivals procedures and full outgoing security procedures plus a twenty minute return walk to the Sofitel Hotel nearby will increase that one hour minimum very substantially. Heathrow is a big place even if you are only visiting one of the four terminals (Terminal 2 is closed).
