Looking at that link to Joana Morais blog above I spotted there is a later article which has at the beginning a very interesting admission.

Everyone who has been, one way or another, connected to the Madeleine McCann case investigation, on the 3rd of May of 2007, admit that there may be lapses in the process.

I can't tell if that is an accurate translation because when I looked at the link given it is to a pay walled page and you cannot see the original Portuguese as Joana Morais has not thought to include that on her site, not even for any PT readers she might have. I wonder why she has done that?

But if the translation of the title of the article is anything to go by it could well be a very bad translation.

Title Joana Morais gives in English:

Maddie Case: PJ/Oporto has already been on the field in the Algarve
(which incidentally is pretty poor English anyway)

and the title of the hidden article on the Jornal de Noticias page:

Judiciária procura novas pistas de Maddie no Algarve
(which Google tells me means "Judicial seeking new avenues of Maddie in the Algarve")

Very well spotted, Greenink - I would not trust Ms Morais to be entirely truthful.

There does seem to be something that was missed by Amaral in his pursuit of the Fridge Theory - and no, it isn't the phone records, despite the frantic spinning going on.

If any of them had bothered to read the earlier review by senior PJ officers:

they would know all that has been done already - and thoroughly, too.

From the analysis no noticeable discrepancies can be found from the depositions made by the intervenients, and also between those statements and other elements to which they were compared, namely, the registries of the crèches entrances and exits of the children, registries of the tennis classes and phone calls.

The only thing that review found to quibble with the McCanns about was the possibility that the children were alone for longer than had been thought.

Which makes an abduction MORE likely, not less.

It just occurred to me - one thing the Porto police WON'T be doing is leaking to tabloids; their involvement was unknown till Gonc's outburst.

As JN was able to find out, one of the aspects that is being newly worked over is the telephone traffic

To anyone thinking that the Portuguese review taking place excludes the McCanns and their friends, one of the things they have been working on is the communications of all the group members. This review, as far as I'm aware, considers all options, as any investigation should.
