From what we know of him, that means getting it by fair means or foul. This time, he stupidly chose foul.
I thought it strange at first there was no statement from SY given to either country's media.
Thanks to Greenink, I now realize Scotland Yard was blind sided by Amaral's latest verbals and had little time to react. Fortunately, the PJ Hierarchy were on the ball and they quickly cleaned the mud away.

Yes, I had managed to figure out that there was a connection, but was getting too bamboozled by all the media reports to see it clearly, Tony.

The PJ bosses must be sick to death of Gonc; apart from anything else, it's nearly four years since he 'retired' and he is still embarrassing him.

No way would they tell him anything at all, not with his record of rushing to the media.

I have a horrible suspicion that Scotland Yard and the Oporto PJ have found significant leads that were ignored by Goncalo Amaral and his team. But it could now be a bit too late to follow them to a productive end. This was always the danger.
I am trying not to be too negative. But tis mortal hard.

If that turns out to be the case, then I hope Portugal takes action against Gonc.

There is stuff that is still relevant today which appears to point to the abductor, but whether they will track the missing children is another matter.

I am in this search for seven kids, but Madeleine started it all. I want the master abductor safely locked away and the younsters safely home.

I don't think Incompetence is a Criminal Offence, Bonny. But putting an Arguido in the case of another missing child, in charge of the investigation might be actionable. Although I doubt that The McCanns will go down that route.
I just want the little shit exposed and discredited for all time, and I expect that this is all that The McCanns want after they have taken the profit he made from the loss of their daughter.

I am still trying not to think that, Sadie. But I don't suppose it would make much difference if he was. Except that he would finish up in Prison for a very long time.
One way or the other, he will suffer. Incompetence can be excused, but not what he has done since. And he will suffer for that.

I am really not placing any reliance on these headlines. I bet a fiver that they are simply rehashes of the Portuguese stories which did NOT promise that new information had actually been found or that the case was being re-opened. This looks like old style sensationalism to me.

I hope I am proved wrong but I really can't see where any other information will have come from unless SY are now leaking like sieves and I don't see that happening.

This is just, in my view, journalists who have even less knowledge of the case than me and certainly less than many of you, facing the welter of PT press reports today and plucking the juiciest phrases from them.
