Well honestly - do these idiots not realise Gonc is only about halfway through his suspended sentence? If he as much as spits on the sidewalk, he will be serving the rest of it in jail.

And he still has to appear in court for his alleged direct assault on Joana Cipriano's stepfather, who had nothing to do with anything, but got rounded up at the same time.

Also - it looks like the PJ are determined to deal with their dirty officers over the proven torture of Leanor Cipriano; I can't even begin to guess what that is going to lead to.

I would think that even forkers should be able to grasp that it is THE PJ THEMSELVES WHO ARE DEALING WITH GONC, CRISTOVAO AND THE GANG.

Ah well, there's the PJ Goodies and the PJ Baddies, and no one knows who's who at the moment. Today's Baddies could be tomorrow's Goodies, or the other way around. Who can tell with all those "Dossiers" lurking around. But I bet there are a lot of Hard Drives being wiped.

Christopher Paul Pereira broke this late afternoon silence during the presentation of the book "Settlement Account" by Antonio Sousa Duarte, in Lisbon, but refused to talk about the process in which the defendant is accused of slander complaint in the case of deposit of 2000 euros to the account of Joseph Cardinal assistant referee.

The vice president of Sporting, who yesterday was reinstated after a Governing Council meeting Leo, said to be done by the club: "I have work to do until June."

Rogério Alves, former Chairman of the Lawyers representing Christopher Pereira in this process, was also present. "This is a court case that will be treated in all serenity. The process is long and appearances are deceptive. The truth will come out and have much time to talk," he said.

The lawyer also spoke of the return of Christopher Pereira toward Leo: "It is the only consistent attitude of a club that believes in the innocence of his vice president. There is a direct relationship between the constitution of a person as a defendant in a process of which little is know and inhibition taking up a position at Sporting. "

This photo of Arguido Cristovao is very revealing. The use of two fingers to hold his head up indicates his inner desire to carry on giving the forces of law and order a two-fingered salute.

Note also the swollen veins from his hairline above his left eye; a clear sign of repressed rage at the world for putting him in this position.

The subject also appears to be perspiring heavily, perhaps due to the strain of carrying all those 'dossiers' on friends and enemies alike around with him.

Notice also that the subject's eyes are bulging as he glares like an enraged bull at someone off-camera.

All in all, the subject has clear anger management issues, and may be dangerous when thwarted.

The fact that no-one seems to want to sit anywhere near him is a clear sign that he is now a social outcast.

After meeting with vice-president Paulo Pereira Cristóvão, Sporting’s Board has decided that the vice-president should resume his role at the Club, with his request of suspension of his mandate hereby being withdrawn.

The Board of Administration appeals for all fans to come together in facing the challenges awaiting in the near future.

I must confess, I got a nasty turn when my TV suddenly said Sporting Lisbon right in the middle of CSI. rofl

How on earth can the match go ahead under these circumstances? If Cristovao hadn't been taken back like the Prodigal Son, it might have been OK-ish, but with him back on board?

I am sorry for the players, that a gangster like him is going to overshadow the match. Even if Sporting Lisbon win, no-one is ever going to be sure it was because of the players' ability and not his 'dossiers'.

I actually cannot imagine how he will control the match; any decisions favorable to Sporting Lisbon are liable to cause a riot.

I am sorry for the players who will be on the pitch on Thursday; if anything at all controversial happens, then there is the potential for real trouble because of him.

He should have done the honorable thing and stayed away from the club, at least till the police investigation was finished, IMO.

I don't think it's as simple as that, Tony, it is going to take the PJ weeks to go through his computers.

IMO, it is his typical arrogance and thuggery - he doesn't care about anyone else, as long as he gets what he wants.

Remember, these is an awful lot of money in football at this level; I can see a lot of reasons why he would impose his will on other people, without caring how it hurt the club.

My own view is that football is riddled with corruption (especially at the International level) and in the field of transfers (look at the £3m "missing" in the Man Utd deal with a PT club recently) and that this Cardinal case is just the tip of the iceberg. I doubt that anyone wants the truth to come out except the poor infantry (the fans) and they don't count for anything in the greater scheme of things in the "sport". I suspect he simply knows too much to be left out of the fold. His rise from the rank of security "doorman?" at the PJ to vice president of one of the biggest soccer clubs in the world is too suspicious as others have mentioned. I can't see how that could have happened simply by virtue of his knowledge of the beautiful game.

I mostly agree, when the scandal involves models, etc, but isn't this one a bit different, as it calls into question the actual results on the pitch?

I don't think fans will much appreciate having their noses rubbed in it like this?
