I think Bonny is right. It's gonna be not what they wanted but we will be smiling.

Of course they won't like it. The Press are going to get a right royal drubbing. And not just for The #McCann s. They have been a disgrace this last two years, and even since The Leveson Iquiry.
But we seriously do not need to worry about the rights of ordinary decent people. No one is going to stop The Press or anyone from printing The Truth, if they can prove it.
Suggesting that Press Regulation will affect life on Planet Earth is just scare tactics. It won't.

They're wailing like banshees today - I don't think the runaway success of the petition launched by Gerry McCann yesterday is going down well.

If their phones were hacked, I wonder if SY would be able to access the information from them or if that would not be legal. I can't remember if the police are able to use phone evidence in the UK in a criminal trial. Perhaps PeterMac might be able to help on that.

As C Mitchell said the McCanns' phones WEREN'T hacked, I always take the opposite as true of whatever Mitchell says.

ETA: I am aware that a security access code number can be put into a mobile (I don't use one so don't know), would that stop a phone from being hacked?

Don't they know how easy it is to stop your cellphone being 'hacked'?

Doesn't that pillock know it was Carter Ruck who said that? That Bennett got it wrong, as usual?

However, in a letter to me today (23 October), Carter-Ruck have asked me to point out that it was not Mr Justice Tugendhat, but the McCanns’ own barrister, Jacob Dean, who said these words: “There will have to be full disclosure, witness statements, and expert evidence on the sniffer dogs…”
