GONC TRYING TO SETTLE WITH MCCANNS

Going to say this is simple terms for the Hounders.

If Gonc held all the aces, knew what really happened, and had the evidence to prove it, then why has he not actually given this to the Police, investigated it himself, and most importantly

NOT GIVEN IN AS HE WOULD GET MILLIONS FROM THE McCANNS IF HE DID AS HE WOULD HAVE A CAST IRON CASE.

Also very nice of Gonc to release another book, just in time to swell his meagre bank account if the McCanns wanted to take it. But no they are not, the settlement allows Gonc to keep the monies from that book, stops Gonc from spouting rubbish again, and Gonc will only pay a nominal sum to the the Fund...unless he breaks the agreement.

Smif 'Me' over on Bennett's home roost seems to be getting in a panic because people don't believe Bullsh*t and Morais, both of whom have been caught telling absolute WHOPPERS in public on several occasions.

That sounds about right - they're in LaLa Land if they think Gonc is going to walk away whistling after what he has done to the McCanns, and to Madeleine McCann.

I reckon he'll be left with enough of the unfrozen assets to get him out of his some of his money troubles, till he p*sses all that up against the wall, too.

We all said this more than a year ago. Settle and get out with something. Whatever one might think of The Case, Amaral had no moral or legal right to use his position to write a book about it.
In fact, I think we all believed that his last Lawyer bunked off because Amaral wouldn't listen to advice. Perhaps this new one has managed just that. And Amaral can hardly change Lawyers again.

For some strange reason the sum of 300,000 Euros keeps on jumping into my head, although I would like it to be more. And then he would keep his house, at least in so far as The McCanns are concerned.
I don't care what he does with the rest of it, or if he keeps his wife. Both he and she are nasty, sad sack people.

I wonder when he decided to wave the white flag? My own feeling is that the Faro verdict was the last straw - how on earth does he propose to settle that bill? By great irony, his only assets are those which are frozen.

€300,000 sounds healthy enough - and oh, what joy it will be never, ever to hear him hissing and burbling about his hypothesis ever again.

He can't have much like his hypothesis being sneered at in the Houses of Commons, either.

How much has he got Frozen, apart from the house? Does anyone know? But tis interesting that his assets weren't frozen until The Libel Suit was lodged.
Also interesting that he made absolutely no attempt to pay any of his other debts before that. Nearly a year when he was riding high and spending money that he owed to other people, including The Portuguese State. What a shit bag.

I cannot even begin to guess how much his debts are now - the costs for the Faro debacle must be astronomical. Remember the carry-on he had? Announcing he was living in a police station, then not turning up for the video link? And the judge had to send a search party out for him?

He has to foot the bill for all of that, and Ms Duarte's fees, etc.

Bennett's very quiet, isn't he? He really is up sh*t creek and paddleless now. Maybe Gonc will lend him his white flag?

I thought it was slightly less than one million Euros, Bonny, which is why they seized his house. I don't think any of his other debts came into it at the time. Just what The McCanns were asking for. The rest of them can whistle as far as I can see. He wasn't trying to pay them when he did have money.
This could be why The Court was so keen to freeze his assets.

All the poor little forkers and hounders have rather a lot of tears before bedtime awaiting them when they discover that smiffy and Morais have been, yet again, economical with the truth.

I really do not know what Mr. Bennett is going to do now. All that messing about, and now Gonc is off the table for the foreseeable future, so no point in quoting him at all. Or Cristovao either, as he is due in Court before much longer.

It's the house he forgot he owned, Bonny. He sold the other one when he ripped off his brother. That was in 2002, by the way.

Of course. If it is an agreement it has to be agreed by all parties. It is not a case of the McCanns coming up with a settlement of let's say € 10.000,00 and GA has to accept it. He can say no till they're blue in the face. If after six months, a limit which is in accordance with Portuguese law, no agreement is reached then the case goes to court or the McCanns can withdraw their complaint.

I take it he's willing to settle for getting €10,000 back from the frozen assets, then? They really should be 'fessing up and admitting that.

Gonc isn't going to get any 'compensation'; he may, if he behaves, get some of his frozen funds back. Bit of a difference.
