Re: Tia Sharp trial:
The following bit from that news item
How idiotic and nasty are some people
'People have said the most terrible things about me as a mother and Tia's life. I can't understand how people who know nothing about somebody can send such awful messages.
'I've been stared at and physically attacked and I know people judge me when they see me buying something nice for my sons.'

I don't know, Ms M. There is an evil afoot, but there always has been. This is nothing new. Just horribly disaffected people whose own lives are shit.
They were trying to burn Galileo hundreds of years ago because he thought that the world was round. Silly old fool. But they soon sorted him.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
....And just to prove the point, the hounders are making disgusting, sickening remarks about Tia's grandmother being involved in some kind of 'cover-up' for financial gain.
I'd rather not repeat it, I don't like giving pondlife oxygen.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
Silly old woman. So sad. How could she have known. But would any of us have been seen dead with that moron. Or is this what a disaffected society is reduced to?
Would any of us have thought that a Vodka Addict was fit to be around any of our grandchildren? Let alone smoking Cannabis.
So she told him not to drink Vodka in the house. Where else did she think he was going to do it?
I do try so hard not to be judgmental, but this was a disaster waiting to happen.
And Yes, I do have some experience of this. And I was ever aware of the possibilities, without a scrap of proof. I just knew that it was possible.
Shades of my life that I don't really want to talk about, but I was once desperate enough for companionship. Or so I thought.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
I don't think the grandmother is actually that old, Sabot....
But here's a thing. Yesterday, on the Justice forum, we saw Guedes gaily admitting that when some friends of hers produced heroin, she didn't tell them to GTF, she snorted it - as if that was OK, as it wasn't injecting!
I make no apologies for being anti-drug, and I loathe the way it is becoming almost normal in society. Drug and alcohol abuse coupled with shattered families is, IMO, a recipe for more Hazells.
How many of them are out there, stoned out of their heads, looking at filth on the internet, in homes with vulnerable children? A terrifying number, I would hazard.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
I didn't think that she was that old, Bonny. Only that she was lonely. And that she might have been pleased to have a man in her life without thinking that he was a predator.
Sadly, you just have to look at him to know that he wasn't a frightfully proper person. But she might not have seen that.
And anyway, just because someone appears to be proper doesn't necessarily mean that they are, or not.
Personally, I would think twice about having a relationship with any man who had first had a relationship with my daughter. But then I don't have a daughter, so I am not in a position to judge. But God help me, I might be.
I just think it is awfully sad that anyone would have to pick up the dregs of what anyone's daughter had rejected.
So, yes, I do feel that the grandmother should have know better.

Re: Tia Sharp trial:
I am sure she would now, give her own life to turn the clock back, Sabot, but she can't.
It would, however, be good if every woman with a drunken, druggie, layabout 'boyfriend' in their homes kicked him out BEFORE he can harm innocents.

Perhaps easier said than done, Bonny. I want to smack her one while still feeling sorry for her. But then such is life.
And I don't suppose that you want to hear chapter and verse of what made me the person I am now. But some of it wasn't very funny. And I really didn't want to be alone.
Twenty years on, I am doing okay, but it has been a hard fight, and I do understand why some women can't hack it alone.
My "Boyfriend" was an alcoholic and a sociopath and very nearly destroyed me in my stupidity to support him.
Fortunately for me, he dumped me because I could no longer afford to support him in the manner to which he was accustomed. Otherwise it might have gone on to my death.
And yes he was a little too interested in small girls, but he never did anything that I could put my finger on.
Sorry about this. It isn't actually a problem for me. Just a memory.

The scumbag's been sentenced:

Tia Sharp Murder: Stuart Hazell Sentenced
Stuart Hazell, who changed his plea and admitted murdering the 12-year-old schoolgirl, is sentenced to life in prison.
Stuart Hazell has been jailed for a minimum of 38 years after he was given a life sentence for murdering schoolgirl Tia Sharp.
The 37-year-old originally denied killing the youngster and hiding her body in the loft of the home he shared with her grandmother.
He forced 12-year-old Tia's family to sit through days of shocking and graphic evidence at the Old Bailey before eventually changing his plea to guilty in a dramatic turn of events.
Passing sentence, judge Mr Justice Nicol told Hazell: "Tia was a sparky girl who was full of life but you took that life from her.
"All that lay ahead of her - a career, loves and family of her own - will now never be. And the loss of her has been devastating for her mother, her father and all her relatives and friends.
"The tragedy of their loss and her death is because of your act in murdering Tia Sharp. You are responsible."
He added: "Your guilty plea has come very late. It follows a wholly fictitious account of Tia falling downstairs and breaking her neck."
Gasps and cries of "yes" could be heard from Tia's family as Hazell was taken down from the dock.
Earlier, he sat forward in his seat and stared intently, as the judge told him there was "no doubt" he had developed a sexual interest in Tia.
He referred to a picture of Tia, believed to have been taken after her death, which he said "further degraded that young girl".
The judge said there was "no pathological evidence" she had been sexually assaulted, the judge said, although "it cannot be discounted".
"I cannot say for certain that there was a sexual motive for the killing," he added. "It is not a case where a whole life tariff can be imposed."
Mr Justice Nicol said there were a number of aggravating factors in the case, including Tia's age, the "gross breach of trust" by Hazell and the concealment of her body, which was found wrapped in bin bags and a sheet in New Addington, south London, last August.
Tia's family left court without speaking to the crowd of reporters who had gathered outside.
However, witness statements described the torment her parents endured after learning Hazell had killed their daughter.
Her mother, Natalie Sharp, said she has "so many questions" for Hazell, adding: "Sometimes I feel pity. Sometimes I want to hurt him."
Tia's father, Steven Carter, said Hazell should be hanged for killing his daughter.
"In my opinion (a prison sentence) will not be enough," he told reporters outside court.

My programme about the #tiasharp case: 'Living With A Killer' is on this Thursday 16th May at 7.30pm on ITV1 (change 2 advertised prog)
Might have known he would find a way of making it all about him - doubtless he will be reshowing his sympathetic interview with Tia's killer.

Good God. So, nothing to do with both mother and grandmother having sex with a drunken, druggie, layabout criminal? Neither of whom thought there was anything odd about said criminal removing bathroom doors, etc?
