Re: SYRIA: Nerve Gas Attack
From:
http://news.sky.com/story/1157089/syria-suicide-truck-bombing-kills-30
A suicide bomber driving a truck packed with 1.5 tons of explosives has killed at least 30 people in Hama, Syrian state media reported.
The attacker blew himself up inside the vehicle at a government checkpoint on the edge of the city, the Sana agency said.
The explosion appeared to have set a nearby fuel truck on fire, increasing the damage and casualties, it added.
Sana blamed the assault on "terrorists", the term it uses to describe rebel forces trying to topple President Bashar al Assad.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the al Qaeda-linked Jabhat al Nusra, or al Nusra Front, carried out the attack.
Suicide bomb? Multiple casualites? Al Quaeda?
Call me silly, but I do think the Syrian government is perfectly correct to describe them as 'terrorists'. Because that is exactly what they are, any pretence of wanting 'democracy' having gone long ago.

Re: SYRIA: Nerve Gas Attack
Al Qaeda decapitate the WRONG man: Terrorists chop off victim's head and parade it on a stick... then beg for 'forgiveness' after finding out they killed a Syria rebel by mistake
Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham severed the head of a fighter in Syria
Believed he was a pro-Assad soldier but turned out to be a fellow rebel
Group 'misunderstood' comments he made about Shia founding fathers

One of the few GOOD things that happened in 2013 was our supposed 'leaders' being prevented from shedding US, UK, and Syrian civilian blood to support these barbarians.
PS - there isn't really a 'right' wounded man to decapitate on camera.

West suspends aid for Islamist rebels in Syria, underlining their disillusionment with those forces opposed to President Bashar al-Assad
I still find it terrifying to remember how close Western nations were to going to war to support terrorists.
ETA:
In practice, this means that the Washington does not want to see Mr Assad replaced in the short term and one senior former US diplomat has called for confidential talks with the government in Damascus on combating al-Qa'ida linked groups.
Saying nothing.

Re: SYRIA: Nerve Gas Attack
Right.
Well, you remember a few months back, Cameron and Obama thought it would be a wonderful idea to bomb Syria to support the 'rebels' there with the excuse of a gas attack on civilians, despite the fact that no-one knew for sure who had done it, and still don't? Though wiser heads suspect Al Quaeda aka the 'rebels'.
And if it hadn't been for the bizarre combination of Ed Milliband and Vladimir Putin, the Selfie Kings would have plunged the Middle East and possible the world into a really bloody war, as opposed to a bloody civil war?
Well, it's finally dawned on them that getting US troops killed to SUPPORT Al Quaeda is a less than clever idea and they are now going to work with Assad and hopefully restrain him from killing any more civilians.

Actually, I think I prefer it when Dave's stripping off on beaches to reveal flab and Mickey Mouse towels, or making an ar@e of himself with selfies.
It means he can't do too much damage to anything important.

That's a bit ranty, but makes a valid point.
