we know that the new PJ investigation is under secret, except of course for Scotland Yard which informs also the McCanns.

for me, this is more speculation.

Agree, we don't know what is happening, Pedro, and nothing has been said officially. So everything is speculation at this point.

However - it is beyond hypocritical for the McCann-haters to accuse the McCann family of having anything to do with this story, when the source is the PORTUGUESE police and a PORTUGUESE newspaper.

AN anonymous tip-off to the Prince of Wales has sent UK police on an urgent hunt for a new suspect in the Madeleine McCann case.
The email - sent via Prince Charles' website - claimed a disgruntled former employee of the Portuguese resort where the toddler went missing, could be behind her disappearance.
It claimed Madeleine was abducted from the Praia da Luz apartment in revenge against the complex's owners.
It is understood police have confirmed the woman named in the email did work at the resort when Madeleine was last seen 150 days ago.
Royal aides have passed the email on to Scotland Yard, which is now trying to trace the author.
A police source told London newspaper The News of the World: "There have been hundreds of Madeleine theories, sightings and tips sent into UK cops from members of the public. But this one is different.
"It's incredibly detailed and so far, from the inquiries being made in Portugal, it appears to be based on factual events."
Police believe that the tipster entrusted the information to Prince Charles because he and wife Camilla came out in support of Maddie's parents Kate and Gerry.
In a statement released from Clarence House in May, the royal couple said they had been following the case "closely and with deep concern" and "fervently hoped" Madeleine would be reunited with her family.

Odd, isn't it, Tony? Did someone get the motive right, but gender wrong? I actually hope there is nothing in this story, because of the implications for the McCanns, but I do think that the PJ must have had very good reasons, for the case to be reopened.

I read one of the journalists who wrote the article was a witness in the libel trial? It would explain a lot. Weren't McCanns due back in Court today?

And what would it explain, as Damaso was supposedly one of Gonzo's witnesses?

And no, the McCanns aren't due in court today. The next hearing is on the 5th - do try to keep up!

Strange that the story has come full circle isn't it? Is it possible as you have said, the person got the gender wrong on purpose?

IMO, it's entirely possible - if the CdM report is correct - that that email WAS an early attempt to pass on scraps of information, Tony. A non-Brit, who doesn't know who to trust, is quite likely to contact a Royal - and said Royals did pass the information on.

I don't know, I am speculating, which is wrong, really - we have so little verified information, it's like trying to knit fog.

It's fascinating to watch the McCann-haters refusing to grasp that this has come via a completely different route than the usual.

If they don't like the news, then they can take that up with the Portuguese press and Portuguese police.

But should it turn out that that email to the royals was the key to the whole thing, then I hope Gonzo is charged with whatever the Portuguese equivalent of gross incompetence and dereliction of duty is, and gets a hefty jail sentence for prolonging this agony.

Indeed, rubbing salt in the wounds and profiting from his own uselessness.

Al Kotron Goncalo Closeau completely missed this ex employee. Pretty feasable. If this joke of a policeman was in any way competent and not driven by personal financial gain and his mad conspiracy theories, chances are this case would have been solved years ago.

Well, if it has anything at all to do with the email describing just such a scenario that Gonc ranted about, then God help him.

Because no-one else will.

There does seem to be something behind this story. Rogerio Alves, one of the McCanns' Portuguese lawyers, has just been on ITV news explaining that the McCanns have been kept informed about this latest development.

I just cannot imagine how Kate and Gerry will feel if the answer has, tragically, been right under police noses all along.

It was reported today that detectives in Portugal have interviewed the widow of a man who used to work at the Ocean Club holiday complex

Kate and Gerry McCann have tonight described new reports that a former hotel worker allegedly kidnapped their daughter as "pure speculation".

It was reported today that detectives in Portugal have interviewed the widow of a 40-year-old man who used to work at the Ocean Club holiday complex in Praia de Luz.

This is the hotel where the McCanns were staying when their daughter disappeared on May 3, 2007.

The Portuguese daily Correio da Manha said he had been fired from the hotel and may have been seeking revenge.

He died in a tractor accident in 2009 but police have interviewed his widow as part of their new investigation, according to the newspaper.

Clarence Mitchell, who represents Kate and Gerry McCann, said tonight: "We are aware of reports in the Portuguese press.

"They are pure speculation and the McCanns are not going to give a running commentary on every new report."
t is claimed that suspicions surrounding the former Ocean Club employee arose during a review by a judicial police team in Porto and led Portuguese authorities to reopen the case last week.

The man is reported to have been living in Lagos, just 15 minutes away from the holiday complex, at the time of the then three-year-old's disappearance.

Correio da Manha claimed that he had left the Ocean Club on bad terms and said that his possible motives for snatching Madeleine are under investigation.

It also reported that he was not on the list of employees given to police during the initial investigation because he was not working at the resort when the toddler disappeared.

Earlier this week, the newspaper reported that Portuguese investigators believe Madeleine is probably dead and are searching for her body.

Portuguese police have declined to comment on any of the claims due to a secrecy order relating to the investigation.

The latest reports come while a libel trial bought by the McCanns against a former Portuguese police officer who accused them of covering up their daughter's death is still ongoing.

Scotland Yard has issued fresh appeals to the public in recent weeks, releasing two e-fit images of a man who was seen carrying a child towards the beach the night Madeleine went missing.

For those in Portugal, I suggest that you watch Moita Flores on CMTV at 22h45. I wonder if the shit is going to hit the fan.

Unfortunately, Cabovisão doesn't have CMTV so I will have to wait for other people's updates.
